Answer:

0.338125 m/s

Explanation:

Applying,

Law of conservation of momentum

m'v' = mv............ Equation 1

Where m' = mass of the first skater, v' = velocity of the first skater, m = mass of the second skater, v = velocity of the second skater.

make v the subject of the equation

v = m'v'/m........... Equation 2

From the question,

Given: m' = 54.1 kg, v' = 0.375 m/s, m = 60 kg

Substitute these values into equation

v = (54.1×0.375)/60

v = 20.2875/60

v = 0.338125 m/s

Soil formation involves both
Softa [21]
The process of soil formation involves the following steps: Accumulation of materials, leaching and losses (because of weather factors particles are leached and eroded away or taken up from the soil by plants), Transformation and illluviation (the chemical weathering of silt, sand, and the formation of clay minerals as well as the change of organic materials into decay resistant organic matter), podsolisation and translocations (strong acidic solutions breakdown the clay minerals). From the given options soil formation involves both physical and chemical weathering of rocks. Correct answer:D

The graph below shows the energy sources used to generate electricity in the United States.
DedPeter [7]

The correct answer is - D. 1 percent.

The United States are the biggest consumer of electricity in the world. Because of that the United States are using multiple different sources in order to satisfy the demand for the electricity. The solar energy though accounts for only 1% of the total amount of produced electricity in the country and that is concerning. The biggest concern of course is the environmental one as the majority of the electricity is produced by sources that are polluting the environment. The other concern is that the United States are not using their potential in gaining more electricity from the solar radiation when taken in account that they have very large areas in the country that have a lot of intense solar radiation and clear skies throughout most of the year.

How many joules of heat must be transferred to a 410-g aluminum pizza pan to raise its temperature from 32oC to 232oC? The speci
xxTIMURxx [149]

Answer:

recall that heat absorbed released is given by

Q = mc*(T2 - T1)

where

m = mass (in g)

c = specific heat capacity (in J/g-k)

T = temperature (in C or K)

*note: Q is (+) when heat is absorbed and (-) when heat is released.

substituting,

Q = (480)*(0.97)*(234 - 22)

Q = 98707 J = 98.7 kJ

Why should we change away from using incandescent light bulbs
Maurinko [17]

They are energy inefficient

Explanation:

The main reason why we must change away from using incandescent lighting bulbs is because of their energy inefficiency.

 • Much of the power consumed is used in producing heat in an incandescent bulb.
 • Therefore, they are energy inefficient.
 • Energy saving bulbs produces less heat and they are more durable.
 • Most energy saving bulbs are typically more expensive.
 • Most incandescent bulbs are also not environmentally friendly.
