Answer:

a. 2.9218x10^(-29) m^3

b. 7.1230x10^(28) atoms/m^3

c. 2.0812 BM/atom

Explanation:

Atomic radius r = 0.154 nm

saturation flux density Bs = 0.83 tesla

- the formula for the volume of the simple cubic crystal (Vc) = a^3 = (2r)^3

= (2 x 0.154x10^-9)^3

= 2.9218x10^-29 m^3

- The formula for the Bohr magneton per atom with respect to VC, Bs, permeability of the vacuum Uo and magnetic moment per Bohr magneton Ub is;

Bohr magneton per atom nb = (Bs x VC) / (Ub x Uo)

                                    = (0.83 x 2.9218x10^-29) / (9.27x10^-24) x(1.257x10^-6)

                                    = 2.4251x10^-29 / 1.1652x10^-29

                                    = 2.0812 BM/atom

- Number of atoms per Vc, N = nb / Vc

                                              = 2.0812 / 2.9218x10^-29 = 7.1230x10^28 atoms

It is said that Archimedes discovered the buoyancy laws when asked by King Hiero of Syracuse to determine whether his new crown
sertanlavr [38]

Answer with Explanation:

The crown will be pure if it's specific gravity is 19.3

Now by definition of specific gravity it is the ratio between the weight of an object to the weight of water of equal volume

Since it is given that the weight of the crown is 11.8 N we need to find it's volume

Now According to Archimedes principle when the crown is immersed into water the water shall exert a force in upwards direction on the crown with a magnitude equaling to weight of the water displaced by the crown

Mathematically this is the difference between the weight of the crown in air and weight when immersed in water

Thus Buoyant force is F_{B}=11.8-10.9=0.9N

Now by Archimedes principle This force equals in magnitude to the weight of water of same volume as of the crown

Thus the specific gravity of the crown equals

S.G=\frac{11.8}{0.9}=13.11

As we see that the specific gravity of the crown material is less than that of pure gold hence we conclude that it is impure.

For the system form of the basic laws, the momentum of a system can change as a result of: a. pressure acting on the system. b.
Ymorist [56]

Answer: F. All the above.

Explanation:

Basically, if an object is moving, it moves with a certain velocity and mass. Momentum of a body is a product of mass and velocity. The sum of momentum of individual bodies is equal to the entire system momentum. For instance, a block v is moving due to an applied force F, with a velocity V and the gravity g. Due to gravity, the weight is mg. Due to gravity, the weight is acting downward. Applied force is acting on the block surface area A.

Pressure = Surface force/Surface area.

Surface force is acting on the surface applied. So, acting pressure = Force applied/area.

Pressure and surface force is acting on the body. Body forces also act on the system. Forces due to gravity is also referred to as body force. As a result of weight of the box, Normal force produced by the rough surface is equal to the Weight. As a result of rough surface, frictional forces are produced which opposes the block to move forward. All the external forces create a net total force due to which the block move with a velocity and acceleration.

In Newton's second law, Ftotal is equal to mass × acceleration.

Therefore, we can conclude that momentum can change as a result of all these forces because mass × acceleration is related to total force and momentum is equal to mass × velocity.

The Double.parseDouble() method requires a String argument, but it fails if the String cannot be converted to a floating-point n
LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

  1. import java.util.Scanner;
  2. public class TryToParseDouble {
  3.    public static void main(String[] args) {
  4.        Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in);
  5.        double num;
  6.        try{
  7.            System.out.print("Input a number: ");
  8.            num = Double.parseDouble(input.nextLine());
  9.        }catch(NumberFormatException e){
  10.            num = 0;
  11.            System.out.println("Invalid input! It should be a number in double type");
  12.        }
  13.        System.out.println(num);
  14.    }
  15. }

Explanation:

Firstly, create a Scanner object to get user input (Line 5).

Next, create a try block and prompt user to input a number and use Double.parseDouble() method to convert the input to double type in the block (Line 8-10).

Next, create a catch block to catch a NumberFormatException. In the Catch block, set the num to zero and then print out a message to inform user about the invalid input (Line 12-14).

Lastly, display the number (Line 16).
