Aluminum oxide produced : = 79.152 g

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Given

46.5g of Al

165.37g of MnO

Required

Aluminum oxide produced

Solution

Reaction

2 Al (s) + 3 MnO (s) → 3 Mn (s) + Al₂O₃ (s)

  • mol Al(Ar = 27 g/mol) :

mol = mass : Ar

mol = 46.5 : 27

mol = 1.722

  • mol MnO(Ar=71 g/mol) :

mol = 165.37 : 71

mol = 2.329

mol : coefficient ratio Al : MnO = 1.722/2 : 2.329/3 = 0.861 : 0.776

MnO as a limiting reactant(smaller ratio)

So mol Al₂O₃ based on MnO as a limiting reactant

From equation , mol Al₂O₃ :

= 1/3 x mol MnO

= 1/3 x 2.329

= 0.776

Mass Al₂O₃ (MW=102 g/mol) :

= 0.776 x 102

= 79.152 g

dexar [7]

Answer:

D.

Explanation:

-log(1.0x10^-5) = pH

pH + pOH = 14 (rearrange it)

OH- = 10^-pOH = 1.0 x 10^-9

- Hope that helped! Let me know if you need further explantion.

The most important commercial ore of chromium is chromite (FeCr2O4). One of the steps in the process used to extract chromium fr
Mars2501 [29]

Answer:

1 mole FeCr2/ 1 mole FeCr2O4

Explanation:

We have to write down the equation of the reaction before we can answer the question;

2C(s) + FeCr2O4(s) -------> FeCr2(s) + 2CO2(g)

By inspection of this reaction equation, we can clearly see that the mole ratio of the reactants and products is 2:1:1:2.

Specifically, the ratio of chromites to ferrochrome is 1:1

Hence;

The mole ration required to convert chromites to ferrochrome is;

1 mole FeCr2/ 1 mole FeCr2O4

Tap water at room temperature has a pH of 7.2 and carbonate alkalinity of 200 mg/L (= 40 mmol/L). What is the concentration of b
UNO [17]

Answer:

the concentration of bicarbonate is <em>[HCO₃⁻] = 0,03996 M </em>and carbonate is <em>[CO₃²⁻] = 3,56x10⁻⁵ M.</em>

Explanation:

Carbonate-bicarbonate is:

HCO₃⁻ ⇄ CO₃²⁻ + H⁺ With pka = 10,25

Using Henderson-Hasselbalach formula:

pH = pka + log₁₀\frac{[CO_{3}^{2-}]}{[HCO_{3}^-]}

7,2 = 10,25 + log₁₀\frac{[CO_{3}^{2-}]}{[HCO_{3}^-]}

8,91x10⁻⁴ = \frac{[CO_{3}^{2-}]}{[HCO_{3}^-]} <em>(1)</em>

Also:

0,040 M = [CO₃²⁻] + [HCO₃⁻] <em>(2)</em>

Replacing (2) in 1:

<em>[HCO₃⁻] = 0,03996 M</em>

Thus:

<em>[CO₃²⁻] = 3,56x10⁻⁵ M</em>

I hope it helps.
