Answer: h = 3.34 m

Explanation:

If the hat is thrown straight up, then at its highest point it has no motion and no kinetic energy. All energy is potential energy

PE = mgh

h = PE/mg = 4.92 / (0.150(9.81)) = 3.34352... ≈3.34 m

Use the concepts of kinetic energy and potential energy to describe the motion of a child on a swing. Why does the child need a
andrew-mc [135]
When the child is moving, he/she has kinetic energy. For just a brief second before they move the other way, the child is not moving, but they have gravitational potential energy.

The child may need a push from time to time because friction with the air causes loss of energy.

A backpack weighs 8.2 newtons and has a mass of 5kg on the moon. What is the strength of the gravity on the moon?
Pavel [41]
Weight is equivalent to the product of the mass of an object and the strength of the gravitational field.

Using:
F = ma

a = 8.2 / 5
a = 1.64 N/kg

The gravitational field strength is equivalent to 1.64 N/kg.

A net force of 6.8 N accelerates a 31 kg scooter across a level parking lot. What is the magnitude of the scooter’s acceleration
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

a)0.22 m/s².

Explanation:

Given that

Net force ,F= 6.8 N

mass ,m = 31 kg

From the second law of Newton's

F = m a   ---------------1

Where

F=Net force ,m=mass

a=Acceleration

Now by putting the values in the equation 1

F = m a

6.8 = 31 x a

a=\dfrac{6.8}{31}\ m/s^2

a = 0.219\ m/s^2

a = 0.22\ m/s^2

Therefore the acceleration of the scooter will be 0.22 m/s².

The answer will be "a".

a)0.22 m/s².
