If a gold ring weighs 25 grams. How much energy in Joules would it take to get it to reach its melting point if the ring starts

Answer:

3.2 × 10³ J

Explanation:

Step 1: Given data

  • Mass of the gold ring (m): 25 g
  • Specific heat capacity of gold (Cp): 0.129 J/g.°C
  • Initial temperature: 75 °C
  • Final temperature: 1064 °C

Step 2: Calculate the temperature change (ΔT)

ΔT = 1064 °C - 75 °C = 989 °C

Step 3: Calculate the energy required (Q)

We will use the following expression.

Q = Cp × m × ΔT

Q = 0.129 J/g.°C × 25 g × 989 °C

Q = 3.2 × 10³ J

What effect does the anion of an ionic compound have on the appearance of the solution?
choli [55]

Answer: B. The anion affects the color of the solution more than the intensity of the color.

Explanation:

An ionic bond is gotten when an electron is transferred from a metal atom to a non-metal one. It should be noted that the ionic bonds simply has an anion and a cation.

An anion is formed when a valence election is gained by a non metal while a cation is formed when the metal ion misplaces a valence electron.

The effect of the anion of an ionic compound on the appearance of the solution is that the anion affects the color of the solution more than the intensity of the color.

The ka of hypochlorous acid (hclo) is 3.0 x 10-8 at . what is the % ionization of hypochlorous acid in a 0.015 m aqueous solutio
Ahat [919]

Answer is: the % ionization of hypochlorous acid is 0.14.

Balanced chemical reaction (dissociation) of an aqueous solution of hypochlorous acid:

HClO(aq) ⇄ H⁺(aq) + ClO⁻(aq).

Ka = [H⁺] · [ClO⁻] / [HClO].

[H⁺] is equilibrium concentration of hydrogen cations or protons.

[ClO⁻] is equilibrium concentration of hypochlorite anions.

[HClO] is equilibrium concentration  of hypochlorous acid.

Ka is the acid dissociation constant.

Ka(HClO) = 3.0·10⁻⁸.

c(HClO) = 0.015 M.

Ka(HClO) = α² · c(HClO).

α = √(3.0·10⁻⁸ ÷ 0.015).

α = 0.0014 · 100% = 0.14%.

Why aren't descriptive investigations repeatable?
Bad White [126]
In descriptive investigations, we still haven't formed any hypothesis yet so we seek information by asking question.

It's not repeatable because repeating the questions over and over again without any clue about what we want to seek is completely waste of time.

Hope this helps xox :)
