How many photons are absorbed during the dental x-ray?
MariettaO [177]
E=hc/wav. len
E = (6.62 x 10^-34 x 3 x 10^8)/0.0275 x 10^-9
E = 7.22182 x 10^-15 J
To convert to eV divide by 1.6 x 10^-19
E = 7.22182 x 10^-15/1.6 x 10^-19 eV
E =45.36 x 10^3 eV
Th energy, E, of a single x-ray photon in eV is = 45.36keV.

Number of photons, n = total energy/ energy of photon
n = 3.85 x 10^-6/7.22182 x 10^-15
n = 5.33 x 10^8 photons

A 4 kg block is pushed up an incline that makes a 30° angle with the horizontal, as shown in the figure. Once the block is pushe
Sophie [7]

Answer:

 B) 100 J

Explanation:

Assuming the distance given is measured along the incline, the vertical change in height is (5 m)(sin 30°) = 2.5 m. Then the change in potential energy is ...

 ∆PE = mg(∆h) = (4 kg)(10 m/s^2)(2.5 m) = 100 J

Could you explain to me how the soccer collects kinetic energy when its kicked?
aniked [119]
FOR THAT YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT ACTUALLY KINETIC ENERGY IS.
It is a form of energy which is caused due to motion, when the ball is kicked, it is send into motion thus it gains kinetic energy, how come energy came from ? as you have already read this ENERGY MASS CANT BE CREATED OR DESTROYED. In this scenario the energy is being transferred by the football player into the ball which appears as the kinetic energy of the ball... that's how it works

Why might you want to use a single fixed pulley?
hjlf

A single fixed pulley can be used to raise or lower lightweight objects.

Option b

Explanation:

A pulley is a simple machine tool which is used to make lifting or lowering tasks easy. A single fixed pulley is a system involving only one pulley fixed on a constant rigid support with a rope wrapped around the wheel. Such a system can be used only to change the direction of applied force in raising or lowering small, lightweight objects which need minimal work force.

A single fixed pulley system helps only in redirecting the applied force direction by using a rope and wheel assembly. The work done in such a case remains the same and hence it is not preferred to use it in lifting heavy objects. Neither is the required force reduced in case of a single fixed pulley system. A movable pulley helps in achieving (A) and (C).
