4.They are all highly reactive

5.They have a silver/white to them

6.They can all be found in the Earths crust

I'm not really sure of any others that they have in common and I thought to give extra so you could choose.

What is the molarity of 500 ml of a solution containing 85.0g AgNO3? A) 0.5 M B) 1.0 M C) 2.0 M D) 5.0 M
kari74 [83]

Consider the equation for calculating molarity: (no. of mole of solute)÷(volume of solution)

First, let's find the no. of mole of solute in AgNO3. As (no. of mole) = mass / molar mass

no. of mole of 85.0g of AgNO3 = 85.0/(107.9+14.0+16.0x3)

=0.5mol

Since the volume of the solution has to be in dm3, just divide the volume in cm3 by 1000 to get the volume in dm3.

Volume of solution = 500/1000

= 0.5 dm3

Therefore, the molarity is

0.5/0.5

=1.0M

The answer should be B.

Without using Appendix B, predict the sign of ΔS° for(b) KBr(s)→ KBr(aq)
Volgvan

Since the sign is positive, the entropy increased by 88.48 J/K.

Examine the phases of the species present to determine whether a physical or chemical process will cause an increase or decrease in entropy. Keep in mind "Silly Little Goats" to aid you in telling.

[1 Sf K+1 + 1 Sf Br-1 (aq)] ([1Sf(KBr (s))])

[1(102.5) + 1(82.42)] - [1(96.44)] = 88.48 J/K

If the entropy has grown, we say that Delta S is positive, and if it has dropped, we say that Delta S is negative. Due to its ionic nature, KBr is soluble in water and causes the 'K(+)' ions to hydrate.
