The percentage of Calcium carbonate in chalk = 100%

Further explanation

Given

1.51 g piece of chalk produces 0.665 g of carbon dioxide

Required

percentage of calcium carbonate

Solution

Reaction

CaCO3 (s) + 2 HCl (aq) → CaCl2 (aq) + H2O (l) + CO2 (g)

mol CO2 :

= 0.665 g : 44 g/mol

= 0.015

From the equation, mol CaCO3 = mol CO2 = 0.015

mass CaCO3 :

= mol x MW

= 0.015 x 100

= 1.5 g

What can you conclude from the hypothesis “If the temperature of the liquid is increased, then more sugar will dissolve because
sergeinik [125]

Answer with Explanation

This hypothesis concludes that the sugar dissolves faster in warm solution has to do with increased molecular motion because the combined power in the warm solution makes molecules in water to travel quicker and sucrose molecules to fluctuate faster which produced a continued evolution favors to make the connections between sucrose molecules easier to succeed. The collisions between the water molecules and the sugar molecules are at a high rate due to increased temperature.

What is the process of separating liquids by boiling points?
Alona [7]

Answer:

Fractional distillation (often shortened in high school to just distillation)

Explanation:

Some elements have different boiling points and can be separated by boiling one element out and condensing it. This is how sodium acetate is made, for example.

Hope this helped!

Explanation:

Ionic compound is formed when a metal and a nonmetal are attached.

If we have MgX₂, that means that the nonmetal must have a valence of -1.

From the list the nonmetals with a valence of -1 are:
