Explanation:

Distance travelled (d) = 56 metres

Time taken (t) = 7 seconds

velocity of the object (V)

= d / t

= 56 / 7

= 8 m/s

The velocity of the object is 8 m/s.

Hope it will help :)

The floor of a railroad flatcar is loaded with loose crates having a coefficient of static friction of 0.420 with the floor. If
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

The distance is  s=  30.3 \ m

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The coefficient of static friction is \mu_s = 0.42

    The  initial speed of the train is  u =  57 \  km /hr = 15.8 \ m/s

For the crate not to slide the friction force must be equal to the force acting on the train i.e

       -F_f  =  F

The negative sign shows that the two forces are acting in opposite direction

=>   mg  *  \mu_s  =  ma

=>   -g  *  \mu_s  = a

=>   a =  -9.8 *  0.420

=>   a =  -4.116 m/s^2

From equation of motion

  v^2  = u^2  +  2as

Here  v =  0 m/s since it came to a stop

=>   s=  \frac{v^2 - u^2 }{ 2 a}

=>   s=  \frac{0 -(15.8)^2 }{ - 2 * 4.116}

=>     s=  30.3 \ m

What is a scale on a map?
Oksi-84 [34.3K]
A map is almost always smaller than the place it describes. If a map of the US were drawn in its actual size, it would be 3,000 miles wide, and very difficult to fold. ... The scale of the map is the ratio of a distance on the map to the same distance on the real thing. ... If the map scale is 1 : 50000, then 1 foot on the map shows things that are actually spread over 50000 feet in the real city or field.

Explain why greenhouse gases in the atmosphere cause an increase in temperature?
harkovskaia [24]
Any gas in the atmosphere that absorbs and emits thermal infrared radiation is referred to as a greenhouse gas (GHG). These are the primary causes of the greenhouse effect, which causes the Earth's temperature to rise. Earth is warmer because less heat radiates into space.

I need help with two more Physics problems
sesenic [268]

Answer:

c. They hit at the same time

b. BGS

Explanation:

A marble dropped (initial vertical velocity is 0) will land at the same time as a marble launched horizontally (initial vertical velocity is 0) from the same height.

Boat S has a net speed of 5 m/s (10 − 5).

Boat B has a net speed of 15 m/s (10 + 5).

Boat G has a net speed of ≈11.2 m/s (√(10² + 5²)).

Short Answer Questions:
Otrada [13]

According to Archimede's principle, a physical object experiences an upthrust due to a difference in pressure between upper and lower surfaces.

What is an upthrust?

An upthrust is also referred to as buoyancy and it can be defined as an upward force which is exerted by a fluid (liquid or gas), so as to oppose the weight of a partially or fully immersed physical object that is floating in it.

Based on scientific information, a physical object experiences an upthrust when it is immersed in a fluid due to a difference in height and pressure between upper (top) and lower (bottom) surfaces.

According to Archimede's principle, there is a higher pressure at the bottom of the physical object due to height, and a lower pressure at the top of the physical object.
