Acids in solution are a source of hydrogen ions, H+. The hydrogen ions are produced when the acid dissociates or breaks down to form ions.

strong acids:

acids completely dissociate into ions in solution. For example, hydrochloric acid is a strong acid. It ionises completely to form hydrogen ions and chloride ions:

HCl(aq) → H+(aq) + Cl-(aq)

nitric acid and sulfuric acid are also strong acids.

weak acids:
acids only partially dissociate in solution. For example, ethanoic acid is a weak acid. It is only partially ionised to form hydrogen ions and ethanoate ions

A carbon atom has a strong tendency to do which of the following?. Answer. double bond with electrons. receive electrons. donate
Novay_Z [31]

Answer: Option (d) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Atomic number of carbon is 6 and its electronic distribution is 2, 4. Therefore, in order to become stable and completely fill its octet carbon readily share its valence electrons with another atom.

For example, C + 2H_{2} \rightarrow CH_{4}

A carbon atom is also able to form a double double with valence electrons of other atom.

Thus, we can conclude that a carbon atom has a strong tendency to share electrons.

Acellus
How many grams of strontium
(Sr, 87.62 g/mol) are in 2.92
moles of strontium?
saul85 [17]

Answer:

There are 255, 85 grams of Strontium in 2,92 moles.

Explanation:

We perform a simple rule of three to calculate the number of grams, knowing that one mole of Sr weights 87, 62 grams:

1 mol Sr---------87, 62 grams

2,92 mol Sr-----x=(2,92 mol Sr x-87, 62 grams)/1 mol Sr= 255,8504 grams

If a pea plant is tall, and tallness in pea plants is dominant over shortness, what is the phenotype of the pea plant?
Firlakuza [10]

Answer:

The height of the plant is controlled by two alleles - the dominant 'T' for tallness and recessive 't' for shortness of the plant. The dominant allele represses the expression of the recessive allele. The recessive allele is expressed only in the homozygous state (tt)
