In semiconductor manufacturing, wet chemical etching is often used to remove silicon from the backs of wafers prior to metalizat

ion. The etch rate is an important characteristic in this process and known to follow a normal distribution. Two different etching solutions have been compared, using two random samples of 10 wafers for each solution. Assume the variances are equal. The etch rates are as follows (in mils per minute):
Solution 1 Solution 2
9.9 10.6 10.5 10.2
9.4 10.3 10.6 10.2
9.3 10.0 10.7 10.7
9.6 10.3 10.4 10.4
10.2 10.1 10.5 10.3

Required:
a. Construct normal probability plots for the two samples. Do these plots provide support for the assumptions of normality and equal variances? Write a practical interpretation for these plots.
b. Do the data support the claim that the mean etch rate is the same for both solutions? In reaching your conclusions, use α = 0.05 and assume that both population variances are equal. Calculate a P-value.
c. Find a 95% confidence interval on the difference in mean etch rates

You deposit $10,000 into a bank account at 2% annual interest. How long will it take for the $10,000 to compound to $30,000?
Rama09 [41]

Answer: <em>time = 55.48 years</em>

Explanation:

Given:

Principal amount = $10000

Interest rate = 2% p.a

Amount = $30000

We can evaluate the time taken using the following formula:

Amount=Principal(1+\frac{r}{100})^{t}

30000 = 10000\times(1+\frac{2}{100})^{t}

Solving the above equation, we get

1.02^{t} = 3

Now taking log on both sides, we get;

t\ log(1.02) = log(3)

<em>time = 55.48 years</em>

Does (-2x+y=6)+ (y-2x=4) have no solution?
DedPeter [7]
Assuming you are asking

does -2x+y=6 and y-2x=4 have a solution

look at them
rewrite first equation by switching x and y
y-2x=6 and
y-2x=4
false since they are same values

there is no solution
these 2 lines are paralell

NO SOLUTION

What’s the answer??(SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME)
Evgesh-ka [11]

To find f^{-1}, you can switch the "x" and "f(x) or y" in the equation.

f(x) = \sqrt[3]{x-2} +8

y = \sqrt[3]{x-2}+ 8

x = \sqrt[3]{y-2}+8

Now you need to isolate the "y"

x = \sqrt[3]{y-2}+8   Subtract 8 on both sides

x - 8 = \sqrt[3]{y-2}  Cube ( ³ ) each side to get rid of the ∛

(x-8)^{3} = (\sqrt[3]{y-2}) ^{3}

(x-8)^{3} = y -2   Add 2 on both sides

(x-8)^{3}+2 = y

f^{-1} = (x-8)^{3} + 2
