Explain how lithium atom is positive charge

Chemistry

Lithium is an element that has an electronic configuration of 2,1. So when forming bonds, it tries to release one of its electrons in the last shell to reach the octet state. Normally when atoms release electrons they get positive charge since the number of protons which bear positive charge, is higher than number of electrons which bear negative charge. So when reaching its octet state, lithium gains positive charge!

Hope this helps! Tbh am not good at explaining. If u have any doubts, ask me!

If an electromagnetic wave has a frequency of 4.5 x 10^18 Hz, what is its wavelength? The speed of light is 3 x 108 m/s.
Mekhanik [1.2K]

Answer:

Wavelength, λ  = 6.7 x 10^-11 m

Explanation:

Frequency and wavelength are inversely proportional to each other.

In this problem;

f =  4.5 x 10^18 Hz

wavelength, λ = ?

Speed of light, c = 3 x 108 m/s.

These variables are related by the following equation;

c = λ * f

Making λ subject of focus, we have;

λ = c / f

λ = 3 x 10^8 / 4.5 x 10^18

λ  = 0.67 x 10^-10

λ  = 6.7 x 10^-11 m

Which nuclei are most useful for organic structure determination using nmr spectroscopy? (select all that apply.)?
Mumz [18]
Hydrogen-1, Carbon-13, Nitrogen-15, Fluorine-19, and Phosphorus-31 are the most useful. Out of these, Hydrogen-1 and Carbon-13 in NMR are the most useful nuclei because the these atoms are the most commonly present in organic molecules.
