A 10.0 ml portion of 0.010 m hcl is diluted by adding it to100.0 ml of water. what is the ph of the solution
Volgvan

From the calculation, the pH of the solution after dilution is 3.

What is the pH?

The pH is the hydrogen ion concentration of the solution. Now we know that;

C1 = 0.010 m

V1 = 10.0 ml

V2 = 10.0 ml + 100.0 ml = 110 ml

C2 = ?

C1V1 = C2V2

C2 = C1V1 /V2

C2 = 0.010 m * 10.0 ml / 110 ml

C2 = 0.00091 M

pH = -log[0.00091 M]

pH = 3

For an experiment, you place 15 g of ice with a temperature of -10 C into a cup and label
melamori03 [73]
The correct answer is c. Temperature is the average kinetic energy of a sample so if two samples have the same temperature they will also have the same average kinetic energy. I hope this helps. Let me know if anything is unclear.

Which of the following elements is the least reactive metal? Sodium, Rubidium, Chlorine, and Magnesium.
LuckyWell [14K]
First off chlorine is not a metal so you can ignore that one.

Sodium and Rubidium are in group 1 of the periodic table and Magnesium is in group 2.

Group one metals are more reactive than group two because it is harder for the group two metals to lose their 2 valence (outer most) electrons.

As you go down group 1 there is an increase in the reactivity this is because as you go down there is an increase in the atomic radius which leads to more shielding. This weakens the electrostatic forces of attraction making it easier to lose the outermost electrons, therefore they are more reactive.

What is normality and molarity of the concentration of solution?
svlad2 [7]

Answer:

Normality is the number of gram equivalents of solute divided by the volume in liters.

The molarity is the amount of moles in solute divided by the volume in liters.

Moles are the molar mass times grams if you're curious

I hope this helps and good luck!
