7. What is the molarity of the nitrate ion that is found in a solution made by dissolving 6.25g
tekilochka [14]

Answer:

0.271 M NO₃⁻

Explanation:

To find the molarity of the nitrate ion (NO₃⁻), you need to (1) convert grams to moles (via molar mass), then (2) convert moles Al(NO₃)₃ to moles NO₃⁻, then (3) convert mL to L, and then (4) calculate the molarity. When (Al(NO₃)₃) dissolves in water, it dissociates into 3 nitrate ions. The final answer should have 3 sig figs.

(Steps 1 + 2)

Molar Mass (Al(NO₃)₃): 26.982 g/mol + 3(14.007 g/mol) + 9(15.998 g/mol)

Molar Mass (Al(NO₃)₃): 212.985 g/mol

1 Al(NO₃)₃ = 1 Al³⁺ and 3 NO₃⁻

6.25 g Al(NO₃)₃            1 mole               3 moles NO₃⁻
-------------------------  x  -----------------  x   -----------------------  =  0.0880 moles NO₃⁻
                                    212.985 g         1 mole Al(NO₃)₃

(Steps 3 + 4)

325.0 mL / 1,000 = 0.3250 L

Molarity = moles / volume

Molarity = 0.0880 moles / 0.3250 L

Molarity = 0.271 M

What is the volume, in Liters, of 0.765 mol of carbon monoxide gas at STP?
aivan3 [116]

Answer:

The volume at STP of 0,765 moles of carbon monoxide gas is 17, 125 L.

Explanation:

We use the ideal gas formula, with the constant R = 0.082 l atm / K mol. The STP conditions are : 1 atm pressure and 273 K temperature. Solve for the formula, V (volume):

PV=nRT ---> V= (nRT)/P

V= (0,765 mol x0,082 l atm/ K mol x 273 K)/ 1 atm

<em>V= 17, 12529 L</em>

At 293 K, methanol has a vapor pressure of 97.7 Torr and ethanol has a vapor pressure of 44.6 Torr. What would be the vapor pres
Bad White [126]

Answer: The vapor pressure of a mixture of 80 g of ethanol and 97 g of methanol at 293 K is 78.3 torr.

Explanation:

According to Raoult's law, the vapor pressure of a component at a given temperature is equal to the mole fraction of that component multiplied by the vapor pressure of that component in the pure state.

p_1=x_1p_1^0 and p_2=x_2P_2^0

where, x = mole fraction in solution

p^0 = pressure in the pure state

According to Dalton's law, the total pressure is the sum of individual pressures.

p_{total}=p_1+p_2p_{total}=x_Ap_A^0+x_BP_B^0

moles of ethanol=\frac{\text{Given mass}}{\text {Molar mass}}=\frac{80g}{46g/mol}=1.7moles

moles of methanol= \frac{\text{Given mass}}{\text {Molar mass}}=\frac{97g}{32g/mol}=3.0moles

Total moles = moles of ethanol + moles of methanol = 1.7 +3.0 = 4.7

x_{ethanol}=\frac{1.7}{4.7}=0.36,

x_{methanol}=1-x_{ethanol}=1-0.36=0.64

p_{ethanol}^0=44.6torr

p_{methanol}^0=97.7torr

p_{total}=0.36\times 44.6+0.64\times 97.7=78.3torr

Thus the vapor pressure of a mixture of 80 g of ethanol and 97 g of methanol at 293 K is 78.3 torr.

Mention gay-lussac's law of combining volumes
astra-53 [7]

Answer:

When volume is kept constant (kept the same), Gay-Lussac's law states that the pressure of gas varies directly with the temperature of the gas. The equation would be \frac{P1}{T1}=\frac{P2}{T2}, Where P is the pressure (in atm) and T is the temperature (in K°).

IN DESPERATE NEED OF HELP (I'll give you brainliest and all)
Anna35 [415]
Attached is a word document that contains a picture of the drawing as well as the explanation.  Let me know if the picture is not showing up or if my hand writing is too hard to read so that I can type the explanation in the comments for this answer.

the major points for the answer was that the Sn²⁺ is reduced while the Cr is oxidized and that the Sn electrode is the cathode while the Cr electrode is the anode.  The electrons travel from the anode to the cathode while the anions travel from the cathode to the anode.

I hope this helps.  Let me know if anything is unclear or if you want me to explain anything further.
