During a neighborhood baseball game in a vacant lot, a particularly wild hit sends a 0.148 kg baseball crashing through the pane
LiRa [457]

Answer:

Explanation:

mass of baseball, m = 0.148 kg

initial velocity, u = 15.5 m/s

final velocity, v = 10.1 m/s

Impulse is defined as the change in momentum of the body.

Impulse = change in momentum

I = m (v - u)

I = 0.148 (10.1 - 15.5)

I = - 0.8 Ns

A 10-kg object is pushed across a rough surface. It begins at rest and accelerates to a speed of 4 m/s in a distance of 5m. Whic
brilliants [131]

Answer:

Explanation:

Unbalanced Force according to newton's second law is the one which causes  the object to move or break its state of rest on application of force.

Here the object accelerate to a speed of 4 m/s and moves a distance of 5 m on application of force .

Thus we can say that the applied force is unbalanced in nature.

A 60 kg boy and 40 kg girl stand on skateboards on a frictionless horizontal surface. The boy pushes the girl away from him. The
bezimeni [28]

Here in the above situation when boy pushes the girl there will be equal and opposite force on boy as per Newton's III law.

Due to this action reaction law boy will also go back with some speed.

Since there is no external force on this girl + boy system so we can use momentum conservation principle here.

As per momentum conservation

m_1v_{1i} + m_2v_{2i} = m_1v_{1f} + m_2v_{2f}

60*0 + 40*0 = 60*v_{1f} + 40*0.3

0 = 60*v_{1f}+ 12

v_{1f} = -0.2 m/s

So boy will go back with speed 0.2 m/s

Part b)

Since the boy and girl will always exert same force on each other by Newton's III law so it has no it matter whether the boy pushed the girl, the girl pushed the boy, or they put their hands together and pushed each other away.

As in all above cases the as per Newton's III law the force on them is always equal and opposite.

A 1000-kg car traveling at 70 m/s takes 3 m to stop under full braking. the same car under similar road conditions, traveling at
azamat
We assume a=const (acceleration is constant. We apply the equation
v^2=v0^2+2as where s is the distance to stop v=0(m/s). We find the acceleration from this equation
a=-v0^2/(2s)=-70^2/(2*3) =-816.7 (m/s^2)

We know the acceleration, thus we find the distance necesssary to stop when initial speed is v=140 (m/s)
s=-v0^2/(2a) =140^2/(2*816.7)=12 (m)
