Answer:

direction of magnetic field will change as the direction of current will be changed. So here if we reverse the direction of current then direction of field also reversed.

Explanation:

as we know by the formula of solenoid that magnetic field along its axis is given as

B = \frac{\mu_0 N i}{L}

here we know that

N = number of turns

i = current

L = length of solenoid coil

now here we know that magnetic field of solenoid is along the axis of the solenoid coil and its direction is given with by right hand rule.

Now if the direction of current is reversed then as per right hand rule the magnetic field direction also get reversed.

So we want to know what will happen to the needle of a compass that is held upright and pointing left in front of the solenoid if the current in the solenoid is reversed. If the current is reversed in the solenoid then the direction of the  magnetic field of the solenoid is also reversed. So the needle that was pointing left will now point right after the direction of the current is changed.

Which of the following is not an example of a chemical reaction? Rust, Photosynthesis, Melting Ice, Heat from Fire?
FinnZ [79.3K]
Rust, photosynthesis, and heat from fire are all chemical reactions <span>because </span>new substances are formed and the chemical formula is changed. By doing this, bonds are broken and formed in the making of the new substance. Melting ice is physical change the molecules are still water molecules, it just changed physical form.

A runaway railroad car, with mass 30x10^4 kg, coasts across a level track at 2.0 m/s when it collides with a spring loaded bumpe
Natalija [7]

Answer:

0.775 m

Explanation:

As the car collides with the bumper, all the kinetic energy of the car (K) is converted into elastic potential energy of the bumper (U):

U=K\\frac{1}{2}kx^2 = \frac{1}{2}mv^2

where we have

k=2\cdot 10^6 N/m is the spring constant of the bumper

x is the maximum compression of the bumper

m=30\cdot 10^4 kg is the mass of the car

v=2.0 m/s is the speed of the car

Solving for x, we find the maximum compression of the spring:

x=\sqrt{\frac{mv^2}{k}}=\sqrt{\frac{(30\cdot 10^4 kg)(2.0 m/s)^2}{2\cdot 10^6 N/m}}=0.775 m

A 0.0780 kg lemming runs off a
kotegsom [21]

Answer:

5.01 J

Explanation:

Info given:

mass (m) = 0.0780kg

height (h) = 5.36m

velocity (v) = 4.84 m/s

gravity (g) = 9.81m/s^2

1. First, solve for Kinetic energy (KE)

KE = 1/2mv^2

1/2(0.0780kg)(4.84m/s)^2 = 0.91 J

so KE = 0.91 J

2. Next, solve for Potential energy (PE)

PE = mgh

(0.0780kg)(9.81m/s^2)(5.36m) = 4.10 J

so PE = 4.10 J

3. Mechanical Energy , E = KE + PE

Plug in values for KE and PE

KE + PE = 0.91J + 4.10 J = 5.01 J

How can you use distance and displacement to describe an object's motion
andrew11 [14]

Answer:

distance can describe the total distance moved and displacement shows how far something has moved from its starting position (in a straight line from point a to point b) the object doesn't have to move in a straight line, but that is how displacement is measured
