Which contribute to both chemical and mechanical weathering? Check all that apply.
larisa86 [58]

organisms and water

Explanation:

Organisms and water contribute to both chemical and mechanical weathering  . A form of weathering known as biological weathering is a derivative of both chemical and physical weathering.

  • Weathering is the physical disintegration and chemical decomposition of rocks to form sediments and soils.
  • Organisms are pivotal to both physical disintegration of rocks through their activities.
  • Through their metabolic activities, they also releases chemicals that are used for chemical weathering of rocks.

Water is essential for weathering. It is used in alternate freezing and thawing, a mechanical weathering process to break down rocks.

It is used in rock hydrolysis for chemical weathering.

A 1000-kg car is moving at 40.0 km/hr when the driver slams on the brakes and skids to a stop (with locked brakes) over a distan
liq [111]

Answer:

 skid distance = 180 m

Explanation:

given,

mass of the car = 1000 Kg

speed of the car = 40 Km/hr

distance to stop = 20 m

if speed is now = 120 Km/he

distance to stop = ?

from given question we can state that,

Work done by the friction is equal to the change in kinetic energy of the car.

       W= \dfrac{1}{2}mv^2............(1)

And we also know that work is directly proportional to displacement

               W = F × x...........................(2)

from the equation (1) and (2)

        x ∝ v²

now,

   here velocity is increased from 40 km/h to 120 km/h means velocity is increase 3 times

so displacement will be equal to 3² or 9 times

hence, skid distance will be equal to 9 x 20 = 180 m

 skid distance = 180 m

miss Akunina [59]

Complete question is;

Daniel plans to have a garage sale. Research trends suggest that the best time to have a garage sale is before major U.S. holidays, when people are looking for discounted purchases. Based on scientific knowledge and trends, which of these would be the most favorable month for Daniel to have a garage sale? April January July November

Answer:

November

Explanation:

We are told the best time to have a garage sale is before major US holidays.

Now, from the options given, the months that have the highest major US holidays are January and November.

January has New years day and Martin Luther King Jr's day. While November has veterans day and Thanksgiving day.

Now, the 2 months immediately after January has no major US holiday whereas, the 2 months after November have 2 major US holidays each.

Thus, the best option is November
