Pamela produced an electromagnet by wrapping a copper wire around an iron nail. When she connected the wire ends to a battery, s

he was able to lift 4 paper clips with her electromagnet. She decided that she wanted to modify the electromagnet so that it would lift 7 paper clips. She modified the electromagnet by removing the iron nail and replacing it with an aluminum nail. However, when she modified the electromagnet, it would not lift any paper clips.
Explain why Pamela's modification caused the electromagnet to lose its magnetic properties.

how many washers or paper clips can be picked up by each magnet. The one which picks up the most is the strongest.

-Slowly bring each magnet close to a magnetic material (such as an iron pin). The one which attracts the pin from the farthest distance is the strongest.

-Construct a device such as in class (place a tongue depressor between two plastic cups, place each magnet on top of the tongue depressor, and then suspend a paperclip beneath it to see how many washers each magnet can hold

Trava [24]

Answer:

No, either driver can not hear a different frequency from the other car's horn than they would if the cars were stationary.

Explanation:

Either driver hear a different frequency from the other car's horn than they would if the cars were stationary if two cars are traveling in the same direction and with the same speed along a straight highway because neither driver experiences a Doppler shift

How do you find the acceleration of an object?
artcher [175]
Rearrange the equation F = ma to solve for acceleration. You can change this formula around to solve for acceleration by dividing both sides by the mass, so: a = F/m. To find the acceleration, simply divide the force by the mass of the object being accelerated.

Hope i helped :)

A gun has a muzzle speed of 90 meters per second. What angle of elevation should be used to hit an object 150 meters away? Negle
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

θ₀ = 84.78° (OR) 5.22°

Explanation:

This situation can be treated as projectile motion. The parameters of this projectile motion are:

R = Range of Projectile = 150 m

V₀ = Launch Speed of Projectile = 90 m/s

g = 9.8 m/s²

θ₀ = Launch angle (OR) Angle of Elevation = ?

The formula for range of a projectile is given as:

R = V₀² Sin 2θ₀/g

Sin 2θ₀ = Rg/V₀²

Sin 2θ₀ = (150 m)(9.8 m/s²)/(90 m/s)²

2θ₀ = Sin⁻¹ (0.18)

θ₀ = 10.45°/2

θ₀ = 5.22°

Also, we know that for the same launch velocity the range will be same for complementary angles. Therefore, another possible value of angle is:

θ₀ = 90° - 5.22°

θ₀ = 84.78°

Two planes leave wichita at noon. one plane flies east 30 mi/h faster than the other plane, which is flying west. at what time w
scoundrel [369]
You have to take note of the individual directions of the plane. Since one is heading east, and the other is heading west, the planes are heading at opposite directions. So, it means that their distance between each other would be equal to 1,200 miles which accounts for the sum of their individual distances. The equation is as follows:

Total Distance = Distance of slower plane + Distance of faster plane
1,200 miles = st + (30+s)(t)
where
s is the speed of the slower plane and t is the time. Since both are not given, the final answer would just be in terms of s.
1,200 = t(s + 30 + s)
t = 1200/(30+2s)
t = 600/(15+s)
