I would say the answer is B. That's what makes the most sense to me but I'm not certain.

A penny is dropped from the top of a building that is 300.0 m tall. Calculate the speed of the penny as it hits the ground. (met
Sauron [17]

We have the equation of motion s = ut + \frac{1}{2} at^2, where s is the displacement, a is the acceleration, u is the initial velocity and t is the time taken.

Here s = 300 m, u = 0 m/s, a = 9.81 m/s^2

Substituting

   300 = 0*t+\frac{1}{2} *9.8*t^2\\ \\ 4.9t^2 = 300\\ \\ t =7.82 seconds

Now we have v = u+at, where v is the final velocity

Here u = 0 m/s, a= 9.81 m/s^2 and t = 7.82 seconds

Substituting

     v = 0+9.8*7.82 = 76.68 m/s

The speed with which the penny strikes the ground = 76.68 m/s.

There is a seasaw that's holding two men. The seesaw has a length of 18m that can pivot from a point at its center. Man 1 has a
Alex

Answer:

Distance=  2.3864m

Explanation:

So that the balance is in equilibrium parallel to the floor, we must match the moment each man makes with respect to the pivot point.

In many cases the point of application of force does not coincide with the point of application in the body. In this case the force acts on the object and its structure at a certain distance, by means of an element that transfers that action of this force to the object.

This combination of force applied by the distance to the point of the structure where it is applied is called the moment of force F with respect to the point. The moment will attempt a rotation shift or rotation of the object. The distance from the force to the point of application is called the arm.

Mathematically it is calculated by expression:

M= F×d

The moment caused by the first man is:

M1= 75kg × (9.81m/s²) × 1.75m= 1287.5625 N×m

The moment caused by the second man must be equal to that caused by the first by which:

M2= 1287.5625 N×m= 55kg × (9.81m/s²) × distance ⇒

⇒distance= (1287.5625 N×m)/( (55kg × (9.81m/s²) )= 2.3864m

At this distance from the pivot point, the second should sit down so that the balance is balanced parallel to the ground.

vivado [14]

Answer:

10

Explanation:

This is tough. The last number  0.2 has only one significant figure. So while the sum of all the numbers is 12.3, you must only leave one sig figure. Rounding to the tenths gives 10.

If an atomic nucleus were the size of a dime how far away might one of its electrons be?
mihalych1998 [28]
The radius of a nucleus of hydrogen is approximately r_{n1}=1\cdot 10^{-15}m, while we can use the Borh radius as the distance of an electron from the nucleus in a hydrogen atom: r_{e1}=5.3 \cdot 10^{-11}m

The radius of a dime is approximately r_{n2} = 9\cdot 10^{-3}m: if we assume that the radius of the nucleus is exactly this value, then we  can find how far is the electron by using the proportion
r_{n1}:r_{e1}=r_{n2}:r_{e2}
from which we find
r_{e2}= \frac{r_{e1} r_{n2}}{r_{n1}}= \frac{(5.3 \cdot 10^{-11}m)(9\cdot 10^{-3}m)}{1 \cdot 10^{-15}m}=477 m

So, if the nucleus had the size of a dime, we would find the electron approximately 500 meters away.
