Why is it important to record the liquid volume to the hundredths place?

You want to be the most accurate that you can be.  Volume can be so small, that even the tiniest decimal point off can change the results.  For example, if you're measuring liquid medicine, then you would want to give the correct dosage.  Even a small amount more can make it too much and can overdose.
