Given the equation: HCl + Na2SO4 → NaCl + H2SO4, if you start with 8 moles of hydrochloric acid, how many grams of sulfuric acid

will be produced?

Answer:

392g sulfuric acid are produced

Explanation:

Based on the balanced equation:

2HCl + Na2SO4 → 2NaCl + H2SO4

2 moles of HCl produce 1 mole of sulfuric acid

To solve the problem we need to find the moles of sulfuric acid produced based on the chemical equation. Then, using its molar mass -Molar mass H2SO4 = 98g/mol- we can find the mass of sulfuric acid produced:

Moles sulfuric acid:

8mol HCl * (1mol H2SO4 / 2mol HCl) = 4 mol H2SO4

Mass sulfuric acid:

4mol H2SO4 * (98g / mol) =

392g sulfuric acid are produced

Iron has a density of 7.87 g/cm3. What is the volume in cm3 of 3.729 g of iron?
KIM [24]

If iron has a density of 7.87g/cm³ and a mass of 3.729g, then the volume of iron is 0.474cm³

HOW TO CALCULATE VOLUME:

  • The volume of a substance can be calculated by dividing the mass by its density. That is;

Volume (mL) = mass (g) ÷ density (g/mL)

  • The density of iron is given as 7.87g/cm³ while its mass is 3.729g of iron. Hence, the volume can be calculated as follows:

Volume = 3.729 ÷ 7.87

Volume = 0.474cm³

Therefore, the volume of iron is 0.474cm³

Explain the connection between reactants, products and limiting reactant.
balu736 [363]
In easy words the connection between Reactants, Products and Limiting reactants is as follow,

Reactants and Products:
                                       Reactants are the starting materials for the synthesis of final synthesized materials called as products.

Example:
                 CH₄  +  2 O₂     →      CO₂  +  2 H₂O

In above reaction Methane (CH₄) and Oxygen (O₂) are the reactants while, CO₂ and H₂O are the products.

Reactants, Products and Limiting Reactants:
                                                                       Considering the same example it is seen that for one mole of CO₂ two moles of O₂ are required to completely convert into CO₂ and H₂O. If either of the reactant is taken less than the required amount then it will act as a limiting reactant because it will consume first leaving the second reactant present in excess as compare to it. Hence, we can say that the limiting reactant is the starting material which controls the amount of product being formed.

Which combination(s) of alkyl bromide and carbonyl compound can be used to prepare the following product by reaction of the Grig
Fiesta28 [93]

Answer:

D. only 2 and 3

Explanation:

The Grignard compound or reagent is a highly reactive compound formed from the reaction between an ether solvent containing magnesium and a haloalkane. This compound can also be used to create a C-C bond (carbon-carbon). Based on the properties and structure of a Grignard compound, the answer is option D.

Which way of expressing concentration includes (a) volume of solution;
Sergio [31]

Molarity and normality are the ways of expressing concentration which includes the volume of the solution.

As we know,

Molarity is defined as the number of moles of solute dissolved in 1L of the solution. Thus,

M = no. of moles of solution/ Volume of solution on litres.

while, Normality is the number of gram equivalents of the solute dissolved per litre of the solution.

N = Gram equivalent of the solute/ volume of solution in litres.

while, the other concentration expressing terms such as mole fraction, molality includes the mass of the solution and solvent respectively.
