What is the differences between mitosis and meiosis?

Mitosis and meiosis are both processes which describe the production of new cells. Mitosis produces 2 daughter cells which are genetically identical to the parent cell. Each daughter cell is diploid (contains the normal number of chromosomes). This is the result of DNA replication and 1 cell division. Mitosis is used in growth and asexual reproduction. Meiosis produces 4 daughter cells, each of which are unidentical to the parent cell and to one another. Each daughter cell is haploid (contains half the number of normal chromosomes). This is the result of DNA replication, followed by crossing over of homologous chromosomes and separation of chromosomes. There are two cell divisions: the parent cell divides once and then each cell produced by this first division divides once. Meiosis is used to produce gametes (sperm and egg cells), the cells of sexual reproduction. Two gametes fuse to form a zygote, a diploid cell with the full number of chromosomes.

How are size and mass of the moon different from that of the earth?
Elodia [21]
The diameter of the Moon is 3,474 km. Now, let's compare this to the Earth. The diameter of the Earth is 12,742 km. This means that the Moon is approximately 27% the size of the Earth.

In a liquid with a density of 1400 kg/m3 , longitudinal waves with a frequency of 370 Hz are found to have a wavelength of 8.40
VARVARA [1.3K]

Answer:

Bulk modulus = 1.35 × 10^{10} Pa

Explanation:

given data

density = 1400 kg/m³

frequency = 370 Hz

wavelength = 8.40 m

solution

we get here bulk modulus of the liquid that is

we know Bulk Modulus = v^2*\rho ...............

here \rho is density i.e 1400 kg/m³

and v is = frequency × wavelength

v = 370 × 8.40 = 3108 m/s

so here bulk modulus will be as

Bulk modulus = 3108² × 1400

Bulk modulus = 1.35 × 10^{10} Pa

a circular loop is hanging on the wall. it has a radius of 33.3 cm and is comprised of 12 coils. there is a magnetic field perpe
Vika [28.1K]

Answer:

I = 2.19A, anticlockwise direction.

Explanation:

Given r = 33cm = 0.33m, N = 12, ΔB = 7.5 - 1.5 = 6.0T, Δt = 3s, R = 3.75Ω

By Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction when there is a change in flux in a coil or loop, an emf is induced in the coil or loop which is proportional to the time rate of change of the magnetic flux through the loop.

The emf E is related to the flux by the formula

E = – NdФ/dt

Where N = number of turns in the coil, Ф = magnetic flux through the loop = BA, B = magnetic field strength, A = Area

In this problem the strength of the magnetic field changes. As a result the flux too changes and an emf is induced in the coil.

So

ΔФ = ΔB×A = ΔB×πr² = 6×π×0.33² = 2.05Wb

E = -NΔФ/Δt = 12×2.05/3 = 8.2V

I = E/R = 8.2/ 3.75 = 2.19A

The direction of the current can be found by pointing the thumb of your right hand in the direction of the magnetic field and curling the remaining fingers around this direction. The direction of the curl of these fingers give the direction of current which in this case is anticlockwise.
