Power is the rate of doing work or the energy consumed over a period of time. It can be written as Power = work / time. In the situation above, the work done is constant but the time going up the stairs increases. Power is inversely proportional to time. Therefore, as time increases, the power decreases.

An oscillator creates periodic waves on a stretched string.
sattari [20]

Answer:

A. The wavelength doubles but the wave speed is unchanged

Explanation:

The relationship between the period and wavelength is direct. Doubling the period of the oscillator will correspondingly double the wavelength but the wave speed is unaffected

Through what potential difference should electrons be accelerated so that their speed is 1.0 % of the speed of light when they h
omeli [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

Considering non - relativistic approach : ----

Speed of electron = 1 % of speed of light

= .01 x 3 x 10⁸ m /s

= 3 x 10⁶ m /s

Kinetic energy of electron = 1/2 m v²

= .5 x 9.1 x 10⁻³¹ x ( 3 x 10⁶ )²

= 40.95 x 10⁻¹⁹ J

Kinetic energy in electron comes from lose of electrical energy equal to

Ve where V is potential difference under which electron is accelerated and e is electronic charge .

V x e = kinetic energy of electron

V x 1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹ = 40.95 x 10⁻¹⁹

V = 25.6 Volt .

Voices of swimmers at a pool travel 400 m/s through the air and 1,600 m/s underwater. The wavelength changes from 2 m in the air
frosja888 [35]

The frequency of the wave has not changed.

In fact, the frequency of a wave is given by:

f=\frac{v}{\lambda}

where v is the wave's speed and \lambda is the wavelength.

Applying the formula:

- In air, the frequency of the wave is:

f=\frac{400 m/s}{2 m}=200 Hz

- underwater, the frequency of the wave is:

f=\frac{1600 m/s}{8 m}=200 Hz

So, the frequency has not changed.
