Use this paragraph: In a scale model of the solar system, the sun is placed at the center and the planets are shown orbiting in

circles around it. Mars is 1.5 AU away from the sun and in the model, it appears at 30 cm from it which means that 1 AU = 20 cm. Likewise, Neptune is 30 AU away from the sun.
What is the maximum possible distance that can be drawn between Mars and Neptune in the scale model? Hint: Two planets are as far apart as possible when they are on directly opposite sides of the sun from each other. Draw a picture with the planets as far apart as possible.

A.1.5 cm

B.28.5 cm

C.630 cm

D.570 cm

Describe what it means to view something from a frame of reference. Give an example to illustrate your explanation.
Komok [63]

Answer:

In physics, the concept of a frame of reference is used to specify the perspective from which an object or event is observed.

A frame of reference is where the measurements or observations will be made. Because of this, observing an event may be different when changing from one frame of reference to another, because the measurements will be different.

Defining frames of reference is necessary because the movement is relative, it may be that from our perspective or from a frame of reference on earth we are at rest, but seen from a frame of reference in space, we are in motion due that the earth is always moving.

Another example of frames of reference is a moving plane. Seen from the ground an object in the plane moves at the speed at which the plane travels, but if the frame of reference is fixed on the plane, the object is at rest.

Copper has a specific heat of 0.09 cal/g x C . How much change in temperature would the addition of 8373 cal of heat have on a 5
neonofarm [45]

Answer:

172.92 °C

Explanation:

Concept being tested: Quantity of heat

We are given;

  • Specific heat capacity of copper as 0.09 cal/g°C
  • Quantity of heat is 8373 calories
  • Mass of copper sample as 538.0 g

We are required to calculate the change in temperature.

  • In this case we need to know that the amount of heat absorbed or gained by a substance is given by the product of mass, specific heat capacity and change in temperature.
  • That is, Q = m × c × ΔT

Therefore, to calculate the change in temperature, ΔT we rearrange the formula;

ΔT = Q ÷ mc

Thus;

ΔT = 8373 cal ÷ (538 g × 0.09 cal/g°C)

    = 172.92 °C

Therefore, the change in temperature will be 172.92 °C
