Sally takes two bar magnets and randomly tapes one end of each bar magnet. she labels the magnets A and B. She brings the taped
Artyom0805 [142]
I already answered this quesiton. The fact is that there are only two kind of poles and since the two taped poles of the magnets labeled A and B attracts one to each other, we know that the two taped poles of the first two magnets are oppsosite.

Then, the taped pole of the third magnet has to be equal to one of the first two taped poles and opposite to the other of the first two taped poles.

That drives you to conclude (predict)  that when she brings the taped end of the third magnet (magnet C) near each of the first two magntes, in one case they will attract each other and in the other case they will repele mutually.

Influenced by the gravitational pull of a distant star, the velocity of an asteroid changes from from +19.3 km/s to −18.8 km/s o
muminat

As per above given data

initial velocity = 19.3 km/s

final velocity = - 18.8 km/s

now in order to find the change in velocity

\Delta v = v_f - v_i

\Delta v = -18.8 - 19.3

\Delta v = -38.1 km/s

\Delta v = -3.81 * 10^4 m/s

Part b)

Now we need to find acceleration

acceleration is given by formula

a = \frac{\Delta v}{\Delta t}

given that

\Delta v =- 3.81 * 10^4 m/s

\Delta t = 2.07 years = 6.53 * 10^7 s

now the acceleration is given as

a = \frac{-3.81 * 10^4}{6.53 * 10^7}

a = - 5.84 * 10^{-4}m/s^2

so above is the acceleration

Isaac Newton's first law of motion states?
lesya [120]

Answer:

His first law states that every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force. In other words its  inertia.

Is the magnitude of the acceleration of the center of mass of spool A greater than, less than, or equal to the magnitude of the
Anon25 [30]

Answer:

The acceleration of the centre of mass of spool A is equal to the magnitude of the acceleration of the centre of mass of spool B.

Explanation:

From the image attached, the description from the complete question shows that the two spools are of equal masses (same weight due to same acceleration due to gravity), have the same inextensible wire with negligible mass is attached to both of them over a frictionless pulley; meaning that the tension in the wire is the same on both ends.

And for the acceleration of both spools, we mention the net force.

The net force acting on a body accelerates the body in the same direction as that in which the resultant is applied.

For this system, the net force on either spool is exactly the same in magnitude because the net force is a difference between the only two forces acting on the spools; the tension in the wire and their similar respective weights.

With the net force and mass, for each spool equal, from

ΣF = ma, we get that a = ΣF/m

Meaning that the acceleration of the identical spools is equal also.

Hope this Helps!
