Electronegativity is a chemical property which describes how well an atom can attract an electron to itself. Values for electron

egativity run from 0 to 4. The difference in electronegativity (ΔEN) is used to predict whether a bond between atoms will be ionic or covalent. It can also be used to predict if the resulting molecule will be polar or nonpolar.
If a bond was made between the two atoms shown below, would the bond be (1) covalent, i.e. ΔEN = ≤ 0.4, (2) polar covalent i.e. ΔEN > 0.4 and ≤2.0, or (3) ionic, i.e. ΔEN > 2.0? Enter 1 for covalent, 2 for polar covalent, 3 for ionic.

#protactinium

  • It lies in 7th period having Z=91

The outer electronic configuration is 6d^17s^2

  • d-block element(transition)

So it will form polar covalent bond (2)

#Francium

  • Z=87

Outer electronic configuration 7s^1

  • s-block element

It will form ionic bond (3)

Why do gases diffuse more quickly than liquids?
Alborosie

Answer:

D)Gas particles move rapidly and have space between them.

Explanation:

Matter exists in three states namely: solids, liquids and gases. The particles contained in these three states are different from one another. In the gaseous state, the particles are FAR APART from one another i.e. space exists and they move at a very fast rate in contrast to the particles of a liquid, which have less space and move slower.

This rapid movement of gas particles within a less restricted space accounts for the reason why gaseous substances DIFFUSE more quickly than liquids.

30cm^3 of a dilute solution of Ca(OH)2 required 11 cm^3 of 0.06 mol/dm^. Hcl for complete neutralization. Calculate the concentr
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer: Thus concentration of Ca(OH)_2 in mol/dm^3 is 0.011 and in g/dm^3 is 0.814

Explanation:

To calculate the concentration of Ca(OH)_2, we use the equation given by neutralization reaction:

n_1M_1V_1=n_2M_2V_2

where,

n_1,M_1\text{ and }V_1 are the n-factor, molarity and volume of acid which is HCl

n_2,M_2\text{ and }V_2 are the n-factor, molarity and volume of base which is Ca(OH)_2

We are given:

n_1=1\\M_1=0.06mol/dm^3\\V_1=11cm^3=0.011dm^3\\n_2=2\\M_2=?\\V_2=30cm^3=0.030dm^3         1cm^3=0.001dm^3

Putting values in above equation, we get:

1\times 0.06mol/dm^3\times 0.011dm^3=2\times M_2\times 0.030dm^3\\\\M_2=0.011mol/dm^3

The concentration in g/dm^3 is 0.011mol/dm^3\times 74g/mol=0.814g/dm^3

Thus concentration of Ca(OH)_2 is 0.011mol/dm^3 and 0.814g/dm^3

Answer:

No. 3 lithium

Explain that lithium has 3 protons and 3 electrons. There are 2 electrons on the first energy level and 1 electron on the second

No. 4 Hydrogen (H) and helium (He) have a valence shell containing one and two electrons respectively. They make up the first period (row) of the periodic table. Their valence electron/s are in the first energy level (n=1) , as is denoted by 1s1 and 1s2 .

What do radio waves and gamma rays have in common?
padilas [110]

Answer: The sequence from longest wavelength (radio waves) to shortest wavelength (gamma rays) is also a sequence in energy from lowest energy to highest energy. ... The energy carried by a radio wave is low, while the energy carried by a gamma ray is high. Different materials can block different types of light.

A solution with a ph of 4 has _________ the concentration of h+ present compared to a solution with a ph of 5.
Marina CMI [18]
A solution with a pH of 4 has ten times the concentration of H⁺ present compared to a solution with a pH of 5.
pH is a numeric scale for the acidity or basicity of an aqueous solution. It is the negative of the base 10 logarithm of the molar concentration of hydrogen ions.
[H⁺] = 10∧-pH.
pH = 4 → [H⁺]₁ = 10⁻⁴ M = 0,0001 M.
pH = 5 → [H⁺]₂ = 10⁻⁵ M = 0,00001 M.
[H⁺]₁ / [H⁺]₂ = 0,0001 M / 0,00001 M.
[H⁺]₁ / [H⁺]₂ = 10.
