Why is copper (i) sulfate Cu2So4^-2? not copper (ii)?
const2013 [10]
Copper (I) oxidation state is 1 Cu2So4
copper (II) oxidation state is +2 CuSo4
copper (i) also give up one electron so you need two of them to react with the sulfate ion (which has charge of -2)
and also all metallic ions have an multiple oxidation levels corresponding to the number of electrons they can exchange or loose
Hope this helps

A substance has a boiling point of 78 °C. Which of the following is true about the substance? (5 points) a It will also change f
vovangra [49]

Answer: If a substance has a boiling point of 78^{o}C then it is true that it will also change from a gas to a liquid at 78 °C while the gas loses energy.

Explanation:

The temperature at which vapor pressure of a liquid substance becomes equal to the atmospheric pressure is called boiling point of substance.

At the boiling point, liquid phase and vapor phase remains in equilibrium.

This means that as liquid phase changes into vapor phase and also vapor phase changes into liquid phase at the boiling point.

Thus, we can conclude that if a substance has a boiling point of 78^{o}C then it is true that it will also change from a gas to a liquid at 78 °C while the gas loses energy.

Assuming the reaction is first order in sucrose, determine the mass of sucrose that is hydrolyzed when 2.75 L of a 0.130 M sucro
Advocard [28]

Answer:125.84g

Explanation:Sucrose is dissacharides an organic compound in the class of carbonhydrate with the chemical formula C11H22O11.molar concentration is given by number of moles/Volume,this implies that moles=molar concentration ×Volume=0.130M×2.75L=0.3575moles.

Furthermore, number of moles=Mass of Sucrose/molecular Mass of Sucrose.

From it's formular C11H22O11, molecular Mass is the addition of the mass number which is 12 for C,2 for H and 16 for oxygen,O.so molecular Mass of Sucrose is (12×11)+(2×22)+(16×11)=352.

So mass =moles ×molecular mass=0.3575moles×352g/moles=125.84g
