A 40 Watt lightbulb is on for 3 minutes. How many joules of work does it do?
ella [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

Power (p)= 40 watt

time (t)= 3 minutes = 180 seconds

Energy (E)= ?

we know

P = E/t

40 = E / 180

E = 7200 Joules

Therefore it does 7200 joules of work.

hope it helps :)

When a spacecraft travels away from Earth, the gravitational force acting on it
S_A_V [24]
The correct answer is decreases

The further away you are the weaker it would be. That's why at one point you stop being in the field and ti doesn't pull you towards it anymore. Proportionally, if you move towards the Earth then it increases.

1. A Zambeef delivery track travels 18 km north, 10 km east, and 16 km south. What is its final displacement from the origin?
Amiraneli [1.4K]

Answer:

10.2 km

Explanation:

Displacement is the shortest distance from your original position after movement.

Now, the Zambeef delivery truck moves 18 km north and then 10 km east and then 16 km south.

This means that vertically the truck is 2km short of the 18 km he travelled north..

So we can find the displacement using pythagoras theorem..

Let d be the distance from the current position to the initial position.

Thus;

d² = 2² + 10²

d² = 4 + 100

d = √104

d ≈ 10.2 km

I have attached a diagram showing the direction of this displacement

A 92.6 kg weight-watcher wishes to climb a mountain to work off the equivalent of a large piece of chocolate cake rated at 735 (
Kitty [74]

Answer:

349 m

Explanation:

Parameters given:

Mass of climber, m = 92.6 kg

Amount of food calories = 735

1 food calorie = 103 calories

735 food calories = 75705 calories

1 joule is equal to 0.239 calories. Therefore, 75705 calories will be 316749.72 joules.

Hence, this is the amount of work the climber must do work off the food he ate.

Work done is given as:

W = Force * distance

W = m * g * h

h = W/(m * g)

h = 316749.72/(92.6 * 9.8)

h = 349 m
