Answer:

Slope(m)=3

Y-intercept= 0

y = 3x +0

Proportional

Step-by-step explanation:

m = -6--12/-2--4

m=6/2

m=3

-12 = 3(-4) + b

-12 = -12 + b

0=b

Answer:

slope, m = 3

y-intercept, b = 0

Proportional

Step-by-step explanation:

If we assume this is a straight line, we can  calculate the slope between two  of the given points.  I'll pick (-2,-6) and 2,6).

Slope is the Rise (the change in y) over the Run (the corresponding change in x).

Rise for these two points:  6 - (-6) = 12

Run for the points is:  2-(-2) = 4

Rise/Run (Slope) = 12/3 = 4

The line becomes y=3x+b

b is the y-intercept.  We can either solve for b by entering one of the points, but the y-intercept is the value of y when x=0.  Behold:  one of the points is (0,0), so we already have b.  It is 0.

y=3x+0

y=3x is the equation.

slope, m = 3

y-intercept, b = 0

A non-proportional graph is a straight line that does not go through the origin.  A proportional graph is one that does, so this is a proportional graph.

Determine whether the sequence below is a geometric sequence and, if so, find a formula that describes the sequence. 1, 3, 9, 27
r-ruslan [8.4K]

a geometric sequence is a bunch of numbers where you can get from a number to the next number by multiplying the previous number by a certain number

might be confusing so here's an example

1,2,4,8,16

each term is multiplied by 2 to get next term, that number that each term is multiplied by is called the common ratio

formula for geometric sequence is

a_n=a_1(r)^{n-1}

where a_n is nth term

a_1 is first term

r is teh common ratio

n=which term

in our example

1,3, 9, 27, 81

each term is being multiplied by 3 so it is a geometric sequence and thus r=3

also first term is 1 so a_1=1

so the formula is a_n=1(3)^{n-1} or in function notation f(n)=1(3)^{n-1}

What model describes the relationship between the amount of money in an account and time, given that the money doubles every mon
quester [9]
If we have a common ratio every set amount of time (and not a common difference or addition), this is an exponential relationship. An exponential equation would have a form like Money = (1000)(2)^(# of months), where every additional month would cause the money amount to double.
