Explain how a hydroelectric power plant converts energy stored in water into electricity
mart [117]
Hot water, as in very hot water, goes to steam with an enormous change in volume and pressure. This is capable of driving turbine blades, which in turn rotate enormous copper (eg) wired coils in enormous magnetic fields. This in turn produces electricity via electromagnetic induction and Fleming's right hand (I think it is) DYNAMO rule. That goes down miles and mile of v heavy conducting wire/cable as electricity.

A cave rescue team lifts an injured spelunker directly upward and out of a sinkhole by means of a motor-driven cable. The lift i
bija089 [108]

Answer

Mass m = 78 kg

Vertical height in each stage h = 11 m

(a).

Initial speed u = 0

Final speed v = 1.1 m / s

v^2=u^2 + 2 as

1.1^2 = 2 a \times 11

a = 0.055 m/s²

Work done

W_a= m g h + \dfrac{1}{2}mv^2

W_a= 78\times 9.8 \times 11 + \dfrac{1}{2} 78 \times 1.1^2

W_a = 8408.4 + 47.19

W_a = 8455.59 J

(b).Work done

W_b= mgh

W_b = 78× 9.8× 11

W_b= 8408.4 J

c)

Work done

W= m g h + \dfrac{1}{2}m(v_f-v_i)^2

Where V = final speed

               = 0

            v = 1.1 m / s

for deceleration a = -0.055 m/s²

now,

F_L = 56 (-0.055+9.8) = 545.72 N

W_c = 545.75 × 11

W_c = 6003.25 J

A diamond is cut such that the angle between its top surface and its bottom surface is α. For α=45∘, find the largest possible v
Reil [10]

Answer:

i = 61 degree

Explanation:

Given,

\alpha =45^{o}

Now, by the snell's law

sin\theta_c=\frac{1}{n}\\sin\theta_c=\frac{1}{2.450}\\\theta_c=24.09^o

Now,

Sin i / sin r = n 2 / n 1

sin i / sin r (45 - 24.09) = 2.45 / 1

i = 60.97 degree

Consider a loop of wire with a resistor. In the same plane, (with switch S closed) a long wire has a current I flowing from left
Ulleksa [173]

Solution :

The given figure is a loop of a wire with a resistor.

When the switch S is closed for long time and is suddenly opened, the direction of the induced current can be find out by using the rule of right hand screw. According to the right hand screw rule, the direction of the magnetic field at the loop is in the direction that points outwards. The strength of the current rapidly decreases as it is switch off and the magnetic flux that is linked with the loop wire will also decrease.

According to the Lenz's law, the direction of the induced current must be such $\text{that it opposes}$ the decrease in the magnetic flux.  It means the direction of the magnetic field must be outwards and also normal to the plane of the screen. The direction of the induced anti clockwise or from right to left in the resistance.

2 cannons fire projectiles upwards with the same velocity. The
dybincka [34]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

Two projectile is fired vertically upward

One has 4 times the mass of other

When Projectile is fired their trajectory is independent of mass of object. Also if they launched with same speed then both achieved same maximum height in same time and will hit the ground at the same moment.
