The area of shaded region is

A_{shaded}=A_{circle}-A_{segment}.

Find the area of circle and segment:

A_{circle}=\pi r^2=\pi (8.35)^2=69.7225\pi=219.0397,\\ A_{segment}=A_{sector}-A_{triangle},\\ \\A_{sector}=\dfrac{r^2 \alpha}{2} =\dfrac{(8.35)^2\cdot \frac{5}{9}\pi}{2}=19.3674\pi=60.8445,\\ \\A_{triangle}=\dfrac{1}{2}r^2\sin \alpha=\dfrac{1}{2}(8.35)^2\sin 100^{\circ}=34.3316,\\  \\A_{segment}=60.8445-34.3316=26.5129.

Then A_{shaded}=A_{circle}-A_{segment} =219.0397-26.5129=192.5268.

The area of shaded region rounded to the nearest tenth is 192.5 sq. ft.

Answer: 192.5 sq. ft.

Choices for Question #1:
hodyreva [135]

Answer:

Question #1 choice A x=3, ST=24 and Question #2 choice C x =12

Step-by-step explanation:

Question #1

T midpoint so ST=TU and 8x = 2x+18

8x =2x+18

8x-2x=18

6x=18

x=18/6

x=3

so ST= 8x=8*3=24

choice A

Question #2

M midpoint of AB so AM=MB and 4x+1=7x-35

4x+1=7x-35

1+35=7x-4x

36=3x

36/3=x

12=x

choice C

Which statistic is a measure of how data are dispersed in a population and can be used to give context to larger data sets
OLEGan [10]

Answer:

standard deviation

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard deviation is defined as the measure of how spread out the numbers are in a given population. In other words, statistics refers to the amount of the dispersion or variation of a set of given values.

It is denoted by the Greek letter sigma, σ.

Thus the standard deviation is the measure of how dispersed the data are in the population which can be used to provide context to a larger data sets.

Graph y = −x2 − 2. Identify the vertex of the graph. Tell whether it is a minimum or maximum.
Kitty [74]
Y  = - x^2 - 2

the vertex of - x^2 will be at (0,0)
the -2 translates the graph down 2 units

The answer is the vertex is at (0,-2)  and  as the coefficient of x^2 is negative it is a maximum

Answer is  D.

Bryan says that only even numbers are composite
IRINA_888 [86]

Bryan is in error, and his statement suffers from a marked
paucity of veracity.  Not only that ... it's also false.

9,  15,  21,  27,  33,  35,  39,  45,  49,  51,  55,  57,  63,  and 69
are just a few of the odd composite numbers.
There are an infinite number of them.

It's true that except for ' 2 ', all other even numbers are composite,
and all other prime numbers are odd.

But that doesn't mean that odd numbers CAN'T be composite.
