o make the bulbs work?
A switch, two light bulbs and a battery are connected in a circuit. A wire is coming from each side of the battery and connects to each light bulb. Each light bulb has a wire coming from the same connecting point as the battery and going to each side of the switch. The switch is down.

Jamie needs to flip the battery around the other way.
Jaimie needs to make the wires go to the same side of the battery.

Jamie should flip the switch up for it to be a closed circuit.

A circuit is aptly defined as a path provided for the flow of current. However, current will only flow when the circuit is closed. In a closed circuit, electrons can flow freely.

In order to make the bulbs work, what Jamie can do to fix the circuit is to  flip the switch up for it to be a closed circuit.

How many individual orbitals does carbon use for all of its electrons? Remember, there are two electrons in each filled orbital
Andreas93 [3]

Answer:

Three orbitals

Explanation:

The electronic configuration of carbon is given as follows;

1s²2s²2p²

Therefore, out of the six electrons of the carbon atoms, 4 fill the 1s and 2s orbitals with 2 electrons each, while the two remaining electrons are situated in the 2p orbital, with the electrons in the 2p orbital will remain unpaired such that they will have similar quantum numbers in accordance with Pauli exclusion principle.

N: principle quantum number (1,2,3,4,etc)

l: angular momentum quantum number, the shape (l has to be at least 1 less than n, but can be 0 depending on n)

M sub l: magnetic quantum number (l determines this number)

M sub s: spin quantum number (can only ever be 1/2 or -1/2)
