<h2>LARGEST ATOMIC</h2>

\large\mathcal{QUESTION:}

  • Which has the largest atomic radius Pb or O?

\large\mathcal{ANSWER:}

  • Pb

______

  • The atomic radius of Pb, <u>also known as "Lead"</u> is <u>180 pm</u> while the atomic radius of O, <u>also known as "Oxygen</u>" is <u>152 pm</u>. <u>The largest atomic radius</u> between Pb and O <u>is Pb</u>.

<h3>Atomic radius definition:</h3>

  • A <u>chemical element's</u> <u>atomic radius</u> is a <u>measurement of the size of its atoms</u>, usually the mean or typical distance between the nucleus's center and the boundary of the surrounding electron shells.

How many sodium ions are in 1.4 kg of sodium chloride, NaCl?
Whitepunk [10]

Answer:

1.44 x 10²⁵ ions of Na⁺

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Mass of NaCl  = 1.4kg  = 1400g

Unknown:

Number of ions of sodium  = ?

Solution:

The compound NaCl in ionic form can be written as;

      NaCl →  Na⁺ + Cl⁻

In 1 mole of NaCl we have 1 mole of sodium ions

 Now, let us find the number of moles in NaCl;

  Number of moles  = \frac{mass}{molar mass}

    Molar mass of NaCl  = 23 + 35.5 = 58.5g/mol

Number of moles  =  \frac{1400}{58.5}     = 23.93mol

 So;

   Since 1 mole of NaCl gives 1 mole of Na⁺

    In 23.93 mole of NaCl will give 23.93 mole of Na⁺

1 mole of a substance  = 6.02 x 10²³ ions of a substance

  23.93 mole of a substance  =  6.02 x 10²³ x  23.93

                                                   = 1.44 x 10²⁵ ions of Na⁺

In stars, hydrogen nuclei combine with each other to form helium and other heavier elements. what is this process called?
slega [8]
Hello!

The process in which hydrogen nuclei combine with each other to form helium and other heavier elements is called Nuclear Fusion.

Nuclear Fusion happens when the repulsion between the two nuclei is overcome by the Strong Interaction Force, spending and releasing high amounts of energy.

The two nuclei need to be close enough for Nuclear Fusion to happen, and the energy needed to achieve that is given by the extremely hot temperatures that exist within stars (about 15 000 000 Kelvin). That's why this kind of reactions are common in stars.

Have a nice day!

Answer:

Both are chemical changes.

Explanation:

They are chemical changes because when when you melt the sugar to make caramel a new substance is formed. The same with cookies. You don't start out with cookies, you start out with dough. And then when you cook the dough a new substance is formed which is the cookies.
