‘velocity’ refers to how fast an object is moving ‘in a particular direction’. speed is only how fast something is moving and velocity is how fast something is moving AND the direction. (hope this helps)

how is it that an electric bulb lights up as soon as we turn the switch on if the drift speed is 1mm /s^2
galben [10]
Two analogies:
1. The wires are like hoses full of water. As soon as you turn on the water, water is pushed out the end of the hose.
2. Although the electrons only move at 1mm/s, the electomagnetic pulse travels through the circuit at near speed of light (varies btw .1c to .9c). It is this pulse that provides the pressure to push the electrons out the end of the wire into the light

If a football quarterback can throw the ball at 20.0 m/s, what is the furthest distance the quarterback could throw the ball neg
kvasek [131]

The furthest distance the quarterback could throw the ball neglecting air resistance is 81.63 meters.

The situation given above is an example of projectile motion.

The maximum distance up to which a projectile can be thrown is known as its range, which is given by the formula,

Range(R) = 2u^2 sin(2θ)/g

Here u is the maximum velocity of the projectile= 20 m/s

θ is the angle at which the projectile is launched = 45°

g is the acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s^2

Putting the above values in the given equation,

The range comes out to be 81.63 meters.

Hence, the furthest distance the quarterback could throw the ball neglecting air resistance is 81.63 meters.

This chart shows characteristics of three different waves, all with the same wavelength of 10 m but moving at different Which st
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

Wave X is moving the fastest.

Explanation:

As we know that the speed of the wave is given as the product of frequency and wavelength

so here we will have

\lambda = 10 m

now for wave X

f = 6 Hz

now the speed of this wave is

v_x = 10 \times 6 = 60 m/s

now for wave Y

f = 0.5 Hz

now the speed of this wave is

v_y = 10 \times 0.5 = 5 m/s

now for wave Z

f = 2 Hz

now the speed of this wave is

v_z = 10 \times 2 = 20 m/s

So correct answer will be

Wave X is moving the fastest.
