in NCl3 electrons are shared to each other

ionic compound is formed when a metal and a non-metal form a bond by losing and gaining of electrons

In NaBr Na is the metal while Br is the non -metal. Na loses electrons while Br gain electrons

A formula unit of the nitrate salt of Q is Q(NO3)2.

What is IUPAC nomenclature?

The IUPAC nomenclature was put together by the international Union of Pure and applied chemistry in order to have a uniform way of naming compounds.

We shall now find the names of the compounds;

1) Na* and HPO4²- ; sodium hydrogen tetraoxophoshate V

2) Potassium cation and cyanide anion ; Potassium cyanide

3) Calcium cation and hypochlorite anion; Calcium oxochlorate I

Knowing that the valency of NO3^- is one and that the compound formed between Q and CO3²- has the formula QCO3 we can conclude that a formula unit of its nitrate salt is Q(NO3)2.

5. Which type of substances do you separate into lons when writing the complete lonic equation?
liubo4ka [24]

Answer:

As a general rule, soluble ionic compounds, strong acids, and strong bases should be written as dissociated ions in the complete ionic equation. Insoluble salts and weak acids are written using the neutral molecular formula since they only dissociate to a very small extent in water.
