Hi there!

Informative writing has the intent to inform or educate us on a particular topic or event. It gives us more information and insight onto something.

Persuasive writing has the intent of convincing us to believe in a certain idea or to perform a certain action. For instance, advertisements have a persuasive intent; they are persuading us to buy a product or service.

Argumentative writing is similar to persuasive writing in the sense that they are persuading us to believe a certain idea. However, they are often based on logic and fact rather than opinions.

Let's look at the first excerpt.

<em>This morning at 9 a.m., a school bus collided with a car at the intersection of Osmena and Cabrera streets. The passengers were not injured, but the medical personnel checked each student as well as the driver before they were transported to their school.</em>

This text doesn't try to convince us in believing something. It doesn't argue anything and it only tries to give us more insight onto the event, which is a car accident. No opinions are stated and only events are given.

Therefore, this excerpt uses an informative writing technique.

In what way does the sun's rays of light hit the earth?<br><br> PLease anSWER
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

The Sun's energy gets to the Earth through radiation, which you can prove just by standing outside and letting the sun's rays warm your face on a sunny day. Every object around you is continually radiating unless its temperature is at absolute zero, at which point its molecules completely stop moving.

Hope that helps :)

Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are examples of rapid events that are caused by the movement of Earth's _______. Mountain bui
andrew11 [14]

The correct answer is - C. Crustal plates, crustal plates.

The movement of the crustal plates of the Earth is the reason why the geologic processes are occurring on our planet. With their movement, the crustal plates manage to create lot of pressure, open up gaps for the magma from the mantle, as well as make adjustments deeper into the ground.

Because of the adjustments deep into the ground, or rather the crust, lot of force is released, manifested as strong and very quick vibrations, better known as earthquakes.

The gaps that are opening between the plates let the magma reach the surface, thus enabling the volcanic activities on the planet.

The pressure from the plates' collision makes the land lift up slowly, and over time a mountain range starts to form because of the continuous lifting up of the area.

Find the equilibrant of two 10.0-N forces acting upon a body when the angle between the forces is 90° Solve graphically using a
bazaltina [42]

The equilibrant force of the two given forces is 14.14 N.

<h3 /><h3 /><h3>What is equilibrant force?</h3>
  • This is a single force that balances other given forces.

The given parameters:

  • First force, F₁ = 10 N
  • Second force, F₂ = 10 N
  • Angle between the forces, θ = 90⁰

The equilibrant force of the two given forces is calculated as follows;

F = \sqrt{F_1 ^2 + F_2 ^2} \\\\F = \sqrt{(10)^2 + (10)^2} \\\\F = 14.14 \ N

Thus, the equilibrant force of the two given forces is 14.14 N.

Dario, a prep cook at an Italian restaurant, spins a salad spinner and observes that it rotates 20.0 times in 5.00 seconds and t
BabaBlast [244]

Answer:

-\frac{8\pi}{3}rad/s^2

Explanation:

To solve this problem we need to apply the concept related to Angular Acceleration. We can find it through the equation

\omega_f^2-\omega_i^2=2\alpha\theta

Where for definition,

\omega_i = \frac{\theta}{t}

The number of revolution (\theta)was given by 20 times, then

\omega_i = \frac{20*2pi}{5}

\omega = 8\pi rad/s

We know as well that the salad rotates 6 more times, therefore in angle measurements that is

\theta = 6*2\pi rad = 12\pi rad

The cook at the end stop to spin, then using our first equation,

0-8\pi = 2\alpha (12\pi)

re-arrange to solve\alpha ,

\alpha = \frac{-8\pi}{2*12\pi}

\alpha = -\frac{8\pi}{3}rad/s^2

We can know find the required time,

\omega_f-\omega_i = \alpha t

Re-arrange to find t, and considering that \omega_f=0

t= \frac{\omega_i}{\alpha}

t=\frac{-8\pi}{-8\pi/3}

t=3s

Therefore take for the salad spinner to come to rest is 3 seconds with acceleration of -\frac{8\pi}{3}rad/s^2
