Answer:

What is a characteristic of fossil fuel?

They do not cause pollution.

They are formed quickly.

They are renewable.

They are found deep within the earth.

They are found deep within the earth. (This is the answer, my research is below:)

Explanation:

- Fossil fuels are nonrenewable resources. This means that we use them much more quickly than nature makes them. Remember: coal, oil, and natural gas take millions of years to form.

- Fossil fuels are the major cause of air pollutants in the air. The following air pollutants air released due to burning of fossil fuels. (i)Oxides of sulphur: Fossil fuels contain sulphur. On combustion they produce sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide. These oxides form sulphuric acid and sulphurous acid in the atmosphere. These acids are harmful and corrode the marble. (ii) Oxides of carbon: Fossil fuels produce carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. Both are noxious gases. (iii) Oxides nitrogen: Nitrogen dioxide is a pungent gas and is produced by the oxidation of nitric oxide. (iv)Particulate matter: Generated from automobiles and industries. (v)Ethylene: It is produced from incomplete combustion of fossil fuels by automobiles.

- Fossil fuels are a non-renewable source of energy. Most of the energy used by us is obtained by the burning of fossil fuels. These fossil fuels are used up at a faster rate. They cannot be regrown at a scale compared to their consumption. With the increased demand for the production of various energies, fossil fuel energy is declining. It is difficult to replace them. That is why they are known as a non-renewable source of energy.

- Fossil remains suitable for fuel (hydrocarbons) are found all around the world. They are all underground.

"Fossil fuels" are formed and stored over time in rock formations. They would not form or remain if they were exposed above ground. Different sources and geological conditions create different forms, such as oil, gases and coal.

Fossil fuels are made from decomposing plants and animals. These fuels are found in the Earth’s crust and contain carbon and hydrogen, which can be burned for energy. Coal, oil, and natural gas are examples of fossil fuels.

They are found deep within the earth. (Fossil fuels are the main cause of pollutions, they do not form quickly, and they are non-renewable resources.)

Which of the following bond types is the strongest?
Andre45 [30]

Answer:

b) Ion-dipole

Explanation:

Intermolecular forces are the forces of attraction or repulsion between molecules, they are significantly weaker than intramolecular forces like covalent or ionic bonds.

 • Hydrogen bonds happen between a partially positively charged hydrogen and another partially negatively charged, it's a type of dipole-dipole interaction, one of the strongest among intermolecular forces.
 • Ion-dipole involves an ion and polar molecule, its strength is proportional to the charge of the ion. It's stronger than hydrogen bonds because the ion and the polar molecule align so positive and negative charges are next to another allowing maximum attraction.
 • Dipole-dipole is an interaction between two molecules that have permanent dipoles, aligning to increase attraction.
 • Ion-dipole induced usually happens when a non-polar molecule interacts with an ion causing the molecule to be temporary partially charged. It's a weaker interaction.
 • Dipole- Induced Dipole, like ion-dipole induced this interaction causes one of the two involved molecules to be temporary partially charged.

Considering this information we can conclude that Ion-Dipole interaction is the strongest force among intermolecular forces.

I hope this information is useful to you!
