The molecular formula is the sum of the atomic masses of all atoms in the molecule.

The formula of Soda Ash:

Na₂CO₃ is also known as Sodium Carbonate.

The molecular mass of Soda Ash is

(2×Na)+(1×C)+(3×O)=106g/mol

The formula of Baking Soda:

NaHCO₃ is also known as Sodium bicarbonate.

The molecular mass of Baking Soda is

(1×Na)+(1×H)+(1×C)+(3×O)=84g/mol

The formula of Lime Stone:

CaCO₃ is also known as Calcium carbonate.

The molecular mass of Lime Stone:

(1×Ca)+(1×H)+(1×C)+(3×O)=100g/mol

The formula of Ethanol:

C₂H₅OH is the formula of ethanol.

The molecular mass of Ethanol:

(2×C)+(6×H)+(1×O)=46g/mol

The formula of Common Salt:

NaCl is also known as Sodium chloride.

The molecular mass of Common Salt:

(1×Na)+(1×Cl)=58.5g/mol

Complete this nuclear reaction by selecting which particle would go in the
kompoz [17]

Answer:

Missing particles: ^{0}_{1}e^{+} (a positron) and an electron neutrino \nu_{\rm e}.

The nuclear equation would be:

{\rm ^{19}_{10} Ne} \to ^{0}_{1}e^{+} + {\rm ^{19}_{\phantom{1}9}F }+ \nu_{e}.

Explanation:

The mass number of a particle is the number on the top-right corner of its symbol.

The atomic number of a particle is the number on the lower-right corner of its symbol.

The nuclear reaction here resembles a beta-plus decay. The mass numbers of the two nuclei are equal. However, the atomic number of the product nucleus is lower than that of the reactant nucleus by 1.

A beta decay may either be a beta-plus decay or a beta-minus decay. In a beta-plus decay, a positively-charged positron ^{0}_{1}e^{+} and an electron neutrino \nu_e would be released. On the other hand, in a beta-minus decay, a negatively-charged electron \rm ^{0}_{1}e^{-} and an electron antineutrino \overline{\nu}_e would be released.

Electric charge needs to be conserved in nuclear reactions, including this one.

The atomic number of the \rm Ne nucleus on the left-hand side is 10, meaning that the nucleus has a charge of +10. On the other hand, the atomic number of the \rm F nucleus on the right-hand side shows that this nucleus carries a charge of only +9.

By the conservation of electric charge, the particles on the right-hand side must carry a positive charge of +1. That rules out the possibility of the combination of one negatively-charged electron \rm ^{0}_{1}e^{-} (with a charge of -1) and an electron antineutrino \overline{\nu}_e (with no electric charge at all.)

Hence, the only possibility is that the missing particle is a positron (and an electron neutrino \nu_e, which carries no electric charge.)

Is sponge cake a heterogeneous mixture
maxonik [38]

Answer:

though many may argue that cake batter is a homogeneous mixture because of its observable uniformity, we know it is heterogeneous. ... In other words, the mixture of ingredients from cake batter results in some chemical reactions here and there, but we are still left with a mixture of things that can be separated.

A student finds two unlabeled flasks of clear liquids. One is believed to be 0.1 m nacl and the other to be 0.1 m naclo3. What i
KonstantinChe [14]

Answer:

  • Add AgNO₃ solution to both unlabeled flasks: based on solubility rules, you can predict that when you add AgNO₃ to the NaCl solution, you will obtain AgCl precipitate, while no precipitate will be formed from the NaClO₃ solution.

Explanation:

<u>1. Adding AgNO₃ to NaCl solution:</u>

  • AgNO₃ (aq) + NaCl (aq) → AgCl (s) + NaNO₃ (aq)

<u>2. Adding AgNO₃ to NaClO₃ solution</u>

  • AgNO₃ (aq) + NaClO₃ (aq) → AgClO₃ (aq) + NaNO₃ (aq)

<u />

<u>3. Relevant solubility rules for the problem.</u>

  • Although most salts containing Cl⁻ are soluble, AgCl is a remarkable exception and is insoluble.

  • All chlorates are soluble, so AgClO₃ is soluble.

  • Salts containing nitrate ion (NO₃⁻) are generally soluble and NaNO₃ is not an exception to this rule. In fact, NaNO₃ is very well known to be soluble.

Hence, when you add AgNO₃ to the NaCl solution the AgCl formed will precipitate, and when you add the same salt (AgNO₃) to the AgClO₃ solution both formed salts AgClO₃ and NaNO₃ are soluble.

Then, the precipiate will permit to conclude which flask contains AgCl.

What is the degree of unsaturation for a compound with the molecular formula c6h6?
Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

The degree of unsaturation for a compound with molecular formula C₆H₆ is 4.

Explanation:

The degree of unsaturation is calculated through the following formula:

2n + 2 - H / 2

n = Total number of hydrogen in given compound

There are six hydrogen in given compound, now we will calculate the degree of unsaturation by putting the value of n= 6

(2(6) + 2 - 6 )/ 2

(12+ 2 - 6) / 2

(14 - 6) /2

8 / 2 = 4

The degree of unsaturation for a compound with molecular formula C₆H₆ is 4.

The given compound is benzene and degree of unsaturation is 4. Three double bond and one ring.
