For a physics experiment, a solid cube is suspended from a spring scale. The gravitational force exerted on the cube is 0.714 N

as measured when the object is suspended from a spring scale. When the suspended cube is submerged in water (ρ = 1000 kg/m3), the scale reads 0.450 N. What is the side of this cube in cm

The side of this cube will be 2.9996 cm. The net force on the solid cube is acting upward.

What is buoyancy force?

A fluid exerts an upward force against the weight of a partly or completely submerged item. The weight of the overlying fluid causes pressure to rise with depth in a column of fluid.

Given data;

Actual weight.W=0.714 N

Apparent weight,W'=0.450 N

The density of water,ρ=1000 kg/m³

The net force on the solid cube is;

Apparent weight = actual weight - buoyancy force

Buoyancy force = Actual weight - apparent weight

F=W-W'

F = 0.714 - 0.450

F= 0.264 N

The buoyancy force(F) is found as;

F = ρgV

0.264 = 1000 × 9.81 × V

V=2.69 × 10⁺⁵

The volume of a cube is found as;

V=a³

2.69 × 10⁺⁵ m³=a³

a=0.02996 m

As we know that 1 m = 100 cm

a=2.996 cm

Hence, the side of this cube will be 2.9996 cm.

pochemuha

Answer:

(i) 208 cm from the pivot

(ii) Move further from the pivot

Explanation:

(i) Sum of the moments about the pivot of the seesaw is zero.

∑τ = Iα

(50 kg) (10 N/kg) (2.5 m) + (60 kg) (10 N/kg) x = 0

1250 Nm + 600 N x = 0

x = -2.08 m

Kenny should sit 208 cm on the other side of the pivot.

(ii) To increase the torque, Kenny should move away from the pivot.

Consider a rocket that is in deep space and at rest relative to an inertial reference frame. The rocket's engine is to be fired
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer:

\frac{m_i}{m_f}=2.7182

\frac{m_i}{m_f}=1096.633

Explanation:

m_i = Initial mass of rocket

m_f = Final mass of rocket

u = Initial velocity

v_r = Relative velocity

v = Velocity

From the rocket equation

v=u+v_{r}\ln {\frac {m_{i}}{m_{f}}}\\\Rightarrow v=v_{r}\ln {\frac {m_{i}}{m_{f}}}\\\Rightarrow \frac{m_i}{m_f}=e^{\frac{v}{v_{r}}}\\\Rightarrow \frac{m_i}{m_f}=e^{\frac{v}{v}}=e^1\\\Rightarrow \frac{m_i}{m_f}=2.7182

\frac{m_i}{m_f}=2.7182

when v=7v_r

v=v_{r}\ln {\frac {m_{i}}{m_{f}}}\\\Rightarrow \frac{m_i}{m_f}=e^{\frac{v}{v_{r}}}\\\Rightarrow \frac{m_i}{m_f}=e^{\frac{7v_r}{v_r}}=e^7\\\Rightarrow \frac{m_i}{m_f}=1096.633

\frac{m_i}{m_f}=1096.633

Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Answer:

1.526 m

Explanation:

The motion sensor sends sound waves in air which travels at a speed of 343 m per second at 20 degree. If d be the distance of the reflecting object

total distance travelled = 2d

Time taken t = 8.9 x 10⁻³ s

velocity v  = 2d / t

343 = 2 d / (8.9 x 10⁻³)

d = 1.526 m

Full explanation please I’m asking kindly
-Dominant- [34]

1).

Time = (distance) / (speed)

Time = (1000 meters) / (331 m/s)

<em>Time = 3.02 seconds</em>

2).

Acceleration = (change in speed) / (time for the change)

Change in speed = (second speed) - (first speed)

Change in speed = (50 m/s) - (20 m/s) = 30 m/s

Acceleration = (30 m/s) / (5 seconds)

<em>Acceleration = 6 m/s²</em>
