The rate of entropy change:

The rate of entropy change of the working fluid during the heat addition process is 3 kW/K

What is the Carnot cycle?

  • The Carnot Cycle is a thermodynamic cycle made up of reversible isothermal expansion, adiabatic expansion, isothermal compression, and adiabatic compression processes in succession.
  • The ratio of the heat absorbed to the temperature at which the heat was absorbed determines the change in entropy.

The entropy of a system:

The rate of heat addition is expressed as,

Q = \frac{WT_{H}}{T_{H}- T_{L}}

The entropy of a system is a measure of how disorderly a system is getting. The rate of entropy generation during heat addition is,

S_{gen} = \frac{Q}{T_{H}} = \frac{W}{T_{H} - T_{L}}

Calculation:

<u>Given:</u>

T_{L} = 400K

T_{H} = 1600K

W = 3600 kW

Put all the values in the above equation, and we get,

S_{gen} = \frac{W}{T_{H} - T_{L}} = \frac{3600}{1600-400} = 3 kW/K

The rate of entropy change is 3 kW/K

When 8.0 grams of sodium hydroxide is dissolved in sufficient water to make 400. mL of solution, what is the concentration of th
nata0808 [166]

Answer:

The concentration of this sodiumhydroxide solutions is 0.50 M

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Mass of sodium hydroxide (NaOh) = 8.0 grams

Molar mass of sodium hydroxide = 40.0 g/mol

Volume water = 400 mL  = 0.400 L

Step 2: Calculate moles NaOH

Moles NaOH = mass NaOH / molar mass NaOH

Moles NaOH = 8.0 grams / 40.0 g/mol

Moles NaOh = 0.20 moles

Step 3: Calculate concentration of the solution

Concentration solution = moles NaOH / volume water

Concentration solution = 0.20 moles / 0.400 L

Concentration solution = 0.50 M

The concentration of this sodiumhydroxide solutions is 0.50 M

Which statement below about contrasting Hb and Mb is FALSE?
olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

C. Hb binds O2 more tightly than Mb.

Explanation:

<u>Hb and Mb are both oxygen carrier protiens which contain the heme group. Hb has 4 heme units in 1 moleucle which work via coperative effect. On the other hand, Mb has only one heme unit. </u>

<u>From above theory, statement A and B are correct.</u>

<u>Although the heme group of the Mb is identical to those of Hb, Mb has a higher affinity for carrying oxygen than hemoglobin.</u>

<u>Hence, Statement C is wrong.</u>

Thats why the function of hemoglobin is to transport oxygen and that of myoglobin is to store oxygen.

<u>When a curve is plotted between oxygen accepted and the pressure of the oxygen, Hb shows sigmoidal, whereas Mb shows hyperbolic oxygen saturation curves.</u><u> The statement D is correct.</u>

<u>Bohr effect and various factors decribe the statement : Hb-oxygen binding is dependent on physiological changes in pH, whereas Mb-oxygen binding is not. </u><u>The  statement E is also correct.</u>
