Answer:

Explanation:

Given a mass spring system

At t = 0.1s, the positions is at x=8cm

x(0.1) = 8cm = 0.08m

Spring constant k=16N/m

Mass attached m = 4kg

Amplitude of oscialltion A=10cm = 0.1m

The angular frequency can be calculated using

w = √k/m

Where k is spring constant in N/m

m is mass attached object to the spring in kg

w = √16/4 = √4

w = 2rad/s.

Generally, the equation of a spring is given as

x = ACos(wt+Φ)

Where,

A is amplitude in metre

w is angular frequency in rad/sec

Φ is phase in radian

x(t) = 0.1Cos(2t + Φ)

At t=0.1 x = 0.08

0.08 = 0.1Cos(0.2+Φ)

Cos(0.2+Φ) = 0.08/0.1

Cos(0.2+Φ) = 0.8

0.2+Φ = ArcCos(0.8), note angle in radiant

0.2+Φ = 0.644

Φ = 0.644 — 0.2

Φ = 0.444 rad.

The phase of the SHM is 0.444rad

The answer is E = 0.44 rad

Basile [38]

Answer:

1.414

Explanation:

Snell's law states:

n₁ sin θ₁ = n₂ sin θ₂

where n is the index of refraction and θ is the angle of incidence (relative to the normal).

The index of refraction of air is approximately 1.  So:

1 sin 45° = n sin 30°

n = sin 45° / sin 30°

n = 1.414

Round as needed.

A ball with a momentum of 16 kg.M/s strikes a ball at rest. What is the total momentum of both the balls after the collision.
melomori [17]

Answer:

Total momentum = 16 Kgm/s

Explanation:

Let the momentum of the two balls be A and B respectively.

Momentum A = 16 kgm/s

Momentum B = 0 kgm/s (since the ball is at rest).

Total momentum = A + B

Total momentum = 16 + 0

Total momentum = 16 Kgm/s

Momentum can be defined as the multiplication (product) of the mass possessed by an object and its velocity. Momentum is considered to be a vector quantity because it has both magnitude and direction.

Mathematically, momentum is given by the formula;

Momentum = mass * velocity

Suppose that you measure a galaxy's redshift, and from the redshift you determine that its recession velocity is 30,000 (3×10^4)
anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

1.4 billion light years away

Explanation:

v = Recessional velocity = 30000 km/s[/tex]

H_0 = Hubble constant = \frac{65}{3.2\times 10^6}\ ly

D = Distance to the galaxy

According to Hubble's law

v=H_0D\\\Rightarrow D=\frac{v}{H_0}\\\Rightarrow D=\frac{3\times 10^{4}}{65}\times 3.2\times 10^6\\\Rightarrow D=1476923076.92307\ ly\\\Rightarrow D=1.4\times 10^9\ ly

The galaxy is 1.4 billion light years away
