Answer:

Explanation:

Given a mass spring system

At t = 0.1s, the positions is at x=8cm

x(0.1) = 8cm = 0.08m

Spring constant k=16N/m

Mass attached m = 4kg

Amplitude of oscialltion A=10cm = 0.1m

The angular frequency can be calculated using

w = √k/m

Where k is spring constant in N/m

m is mass attached object to the spring in kg

w = √16/4 = √4

w = 2rad/s.

Generally, the equation of a spring is given as

x = ACos(wt+Φ)

Where,

A is amplitude in metre

w is angular frequency in rad/sec

Φ is phase in radian

x(t) = 0.1Cos(2t + Φ)

At t=0.1 x = 0.08

0.08 = 0.1Cos(0.2+Φ)

Cos(0.2+Φ) = 0.08/0.1

Cos(0.2+Φ) = 0.8

0.2+Φ = ArcCos(0.8), note angle in radiant

0.2+Φ = 0.644

Φ = 0.644 — 0.2

Φ = 0.444 rad.

The phase of the SHM is 0.444rad

The answer is E = 0.44 rad

A conical container of radius 6 ft and height 24 ft is filled to a height of 19 ft of a liquid weighing 64.4 lb divided by ft cu
kobusy [5.1K]

Answer:

Part (i) work required to pump the contents to the rim is 281,913.733 lb.ft

Part (ii) work required to pump the liquid to a level of 5ft above the cone's rim is 426,484.878 lb.ft

Explanation:

The center of mass of a uniform solid right circular cone of height h lies on the axis of symmetry at a distance of h/4 from the base and 3h/4 from the top.

Center mass of the liquid Z = (24-19)ft + 19/4 = 5ft + 4.75ft = 9.75 ft

Mass of liquid in the cone = volume × density (ρ) =  ¹/₃.π.r².h.ρ

where;

r is the radius of the liquid surface = [6*(19/24)]ft = 4.75ft

ρ is the density of liquid = 64.4 lb/ft³

h is the height of the liquid = 19 ft

Mass of liquid in the cone = ¹/₃ × π × (4.75)² × 19 × 64.4 = 28,914.229 lbs

Part (i)  work required to pump the contents to the rim

Work required = 28,914.229 lbs × 9.75 ft = 281,913.733 lb.ft

Part (ii) work required to pump the liquid to a level of 5 ft above the cone's rim

Extra work required = 28,914.229 lb ×  5ft = 144571.145 lb.ft

Total work required = (281,913.733 +  144571.145) lb.ft

                                 = 426,484.878 lb.ft

A hockey stick strikes a hockey puck of mass 0.17 kg. If the force exterted on the hockey puck is 35.0 N and there is a force of
GREYUIT [131]

Answer:

a=190\ m/s^2

Explanation:

Mass of a hockey puck, m = 0.17 kg

Force exerted by the hockey puck, F' = 35 N

The force of friction, f = 2.7 N

We need to find the acceleration of the hockey puck.

Net force, F=F'-f

F=35-2.7

F=32.3 N

Now, using second law of motion,

F = ma

a is the acceleration of the hockey puck

a=\dfrac{F}{m}\\\\a=\dfrac{32.3}{0.17}\\\\a=190\ m/s^2

So, the acceleration of the hockey puck is 190\ m/s^2.

Lightning occurs when there is a flow of electric charge (principally electrons) between the ground and a thundercloud. The maxi
Korolek [52]

Answer:

2C  charge will flow from ground and cloud

Explanation:

We have given rate rate of flow of charge \frac{dq}{dt}=20000C/sec

Time is given as t=100\mu sec=100\times 10^{-6}=10^{-4}sec

WE have to find the how much charge flows between the ground and cloud in this time

So the charge flow is given by \frac{dq}{dt}\times t=20000C/sec\times 10^{-4}=2C

So 2C  charge will flow from ground and cloud
