An aqueous solution of sodium chloride is best classified as \boxed{\left( 2 \right){\text{ homogeneous mixture}}}.

Further Explanation:

Element

A substance that cannot be broken down chemically is known as an element. It contains only one kind of atoms in it. Examples of elements are hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen.

Compound

The substance formed by the chemical combination of two or more atoms is called a compound. Since these are composed of different elements, these can further be broken down into its constituents. The constituent particles lose their properties after the formation of compounds. Examples of compounds are NaCl, \text{NH}_3 and \text{H}_2\text{O}.

Mixture

It is the combination of two or more substances together, but not by chemical means. The constituent particles retain their properties even after the formation of the mixture. Mixtures do not have a fixed formula and these have variable composition. Examples of mixtures are saline solution, concrete, and sand.

Classification of mixture:

1. Homogeneous mixtures

“Homo” means “same”. The mixtures that have the same or uniform composition throughout are termed as homogeneous mixtures. Such mixtures exist in a single phase. Examples of homogeneous mixtures are air, orange juice, and blood.

2. Heterogeneous mixtures

“Hetero” means “different”. The mixtures that have different or non-uniform composition throughout are termed as heterogeneous mixtures. Such mixtures have two or more phases. Examples of heterogeneous mixtures are ice cubes in cola, sand and sugar, and soda.

Sodium chloride is an ionic compound that consists of \text{Na}^+ and \text{Cl}^+ ions. Water is a polar molecule as it contains \text{H}^+ and \text{OH}^- ions in it. So NaCl dissolves in water completely and its aqueous solution exists in a single phase. Therefore, an aqueous solution of NaCl is a homogeneous mixture and option (2) is the correct answer.

Sulfur oxides Carbon monoxides Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)Nitrates are responsible for the hole in the ozone layer.
svp [43]
The best answer for the question above would be the chloroflourocarbons or the CFCs. These chloroflourocarbons or CFCs are the ones responsible for the depletion of the ozone - which leads to leaving a hole in its layer. These gases eat out the ozone layer and allows harmful UV rays of the sun to come in the Earth.

A bus travels 20km in 30minutes what is the average speed of the bus?
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

Answer:

40km/hr

Explanation:

Speed = Distance ÷ Time and since they both have different units we have to change one of them. Therefore if we change 30 minutes to half an hour we say 20km ÷ ¹/2

The mass % of Ca in CaSO4 is 29.45%. To calculate the mass of Ca present in a 25.6-g sample of this compound, the correct proced
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer:

The correct answer is - 29.45 / 100 x 25.6 = 7.5392 grams

Explanation:

It is given in the question that in 100 gms of CaSO4 there are 29.45 grams of Ca present and there is 25.6 gram of total CaSO4 sample present, So, to calculate the exact value of calcium in this given sample is:

mass of Ca = total amount of sample*percentage of calcium in sample /100

M of Ca =25.6*29.45/100

M of Ca = 7.5392 grams

Thus, the correct procedure is given by 29.45 / 100 x 25.6 = 7.5392 grams

Why is burning wood a chemical change?
Nitella [24]
There are 4 things that are evidence of a chemical change.
1)Change in color
2)Change in shape (gas being let out)
3)Change in temperature
4)Change in smell

Burning wood is a chemical change because it has a change in color, and shape.
