Answer: Option (D) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Molarity is number of moles divided by volume of the solution.

Mathematically,     Molarity = \frac{no. of moles}{Volume}

Also, in the given situation number of moles of both HCl and NaOH are equal. Therefore, volume of HCl will be calculated as follows.

               M_{HCl}V_{HCl} = M_{NaOH}V_{NaOH}

               0.02 M \times V_{HCl} = 0.01 M \times 100 mL

                V_{HCl} = \frac{0.01 M \times 100mL}{0.02}

                                              = 50 mL

Thus, we can conclude that volume of HCl is 50 mL.

The reaction of HCl and NaOH is HCl + NaOH = NaCl + H2O. So the mole number of HCl and NaOH is equal. So the volume of HCl =0.01*0.1/0.02=0.05 L =50 ml. So the answer is D).

During an exothermic reaction, ΔH for the reactants was 890 kJ/mol. Which of the following statements is correct about the ΔH fo
kaheart [24]

Answer:-A. It is less than 890 kJ/mol because the amount of energy required to break bonds is less than the amount of energy released in forming bonds.

Explanation: Endothermic reactions are defined as the reactions in which energy of the product is greater than the energy of the reactants. The total energy is absorbed in the form of heat and \Delta H for the reaction comes out to be positive.

Exothermic reactions are defined as the reactions in which energy of the product is lesser than the energy of the reactants. The total energy is released in the form of heat and \Delta H for the reaction comes out to be negative.

In the formation of new bonds more energy is released than is required to break the existing bonds, heat is released.

In the formation of bonds less energy is released than is required to break the existing bonds, heat is absorbed.

Calculate the volume of 5.00 mol of helium at 120C and 1520 mm Hg
levacccp [35]

Answer:

80.7 L

Step-by-step explanation:

This looks like a case where we can use the Ideal Gas Law to calculate the volume.

pV = nRT Divide both sides by p

V = (nRT)/p

=====

Data:

n = 5.00 mol

R = 0.082 06 L·atm·K⁻¹mol⁻¹

T = (120 +273.15) K = 393.15K

p = 1520 mmHg × 1 atm/760 mmHg = 2.00 atm

=====

Calculation:

V = (5.00 × 0.082 06 × 393.15)/2.00

V = 161.3/2.00

V = 80.7 L

What processes add methane (CH4) to the atmosphere

tekilochka [14]

Answer:

Cultivated rice paddies

Drilling of natural deposits

Fossil fuel use

Burning of biomass

Landfills

Explanation:

The bulk of the methane released into the atmosphere are as a result of various human activities.

  • Cultivated rice paddies are a known source of methane
  • The drilling of natural deposits and their exploration can release some methane into the atmosphere
  • Burning of fossil fuel and biomass is a source of methane
  • Landfills produces methane as organic materials begins to decay.

using the soubility curve what is the solubilityof nh4cl in 10 mL of water at a temperature of 60 degrees Celsius
lukranit [14]

Answer:

Please, see attached two figures:

  • The first figure shows the solutility curves for several soluts in water, which is needed to answer the question.

  • The second figure shows the reading of the solutiblity of NH₄Cl at a temperature of 60°C.

  • Answer: 5.5g

Explanation:

The red arrow on the second attachement shows how you must go vertically from the temperature of 60ºC on the horizontal axis, up to intersecting curve for the solubility of NH₄Cl.

From there, you must move horizontally to the left (green arrow) to reach the vertical axis and read the solubility: the reading is about in the middle of the marks for 50 and 60 grams of solute per 100 grams of water: that is 55 grams of grams of solute per 100 grams of water.

Assuming density 1.0 g/mol for water, 10 mL of water is:

            10mL\times 1.0g/mL=10g

Thus, the solutibily is:

      10gWater\times 55gNH_4Cl/100gWater=5.5gNH_4Cl
