A single slit forms a diffraction pattern, with the first minimum at an angle of 40.0° from central maximum, when monochromatic
Margarita [4]

Answer:

\lambda = 424.4 nm

Explanation:

As we know by the formula of diffraction

a sin\theta = N\lambda

so we have

a = slit size

\theta = angular position of Nth minimum

so we will have

for first minimum of 630 nm light

a sin40 = 1(630 \times 10^{-9})

a = 9.8 \times 10^{-7} m

Now for another wavelength second minimum is at 60 degree angle

a sin60 = 2 \lambda

(9.8 \times 10^{-7}) sin60 = 2 \lambda

\lambda = 424.4 nm

i learned that kinetic energy is energy when an object is actually moving not including the moving particles. i also learned tha
GaryK [48]

Answer:

Part of that kinetic energy created by moving of particles in object is transformed to heat that can be measured by thermometer.

Explanation:

By moving object creates kinematic energy, that is true. In object itself small particles are moving and creating kinetic energy as well. Part of that kinetic energy created by moving of particles in object is transformed to heat that can be measured by thermometer.

Same thing is that when you run or exercise your body temperature is raising(because of moving ).

When you sit your body does not raise temperature.

A kid on a playground swing makes a complete to-and-fro swing each 2 seconds.
sashaice [31]

Answer:

The frequency of the swing: 1/2 Hertz

The period is: 2 Seconds

Explanation:

The time the kid takes to make a complete to-and-fro swing = 2 seconds

The period, T, is the time it takes to make one complete cycle of an oscillatory motion, therefore, we have;

The frequency, f, is the number of cycles completed each second, therefore, we have;

The time for 1 cycle = 2 seconds

2 seconds = 1 cycle

Dividing both sides by 2 gives;

2/2 seconds = 1/2 cycles

2/2 = 1

In 2/2 = 1 seconds The number of cycles completed = 1/2 cycles

Therefore, the number of cycles completed per (one) second = 1/2 cycles

Therefore the frequency of the swing, f = 1/2 cycle/seconds = 1/2 Hertz

The period, T, is the time it takes to complete one to-and-fro swing which is one cycle which is 2 seconds

Therefore, the period is 2 Seconds.
