An iron nail is made up of particles. What is true about the particles?

Physics

Answer:

All these particles behaves like small magnets which is known as domains

Explanation:

As we know that iron is a ferromagnetic substance so in this type of ferromagnetic substance all the medium particles will behave like small magnets which is known as small domains.

These domains have their own magnetic field which is very weak but if all the domains will align in same direction then all domains will combined and give strong magnetic field.

So in general case when iron nail is placed at room temperature then all these domains are randomly arranged and they do not give any net magnetic field while if we place the iron nail in external magnetic field then in that case the domains will align itself and give strong magnetic field in the direction of external field.

This is known as magnetization

Calculate Vector component in Y if the hypotenuse is 32 and angle is 45
Lerok [7]

Answer:

The correct option is;

c. 22.6

Explanation:

The given parameters are;

The hypotenuse of the vector = 32

The angle of the vector = 45°

Therefore, the vector component in the y-axis is given as follows;

v_y = v \times sin(\theta)

Substituting the values from the question gives;

v_y = 32 \times sin(45^{\circ}) \approx 22.6

The vector component in the y-axis, v_y, is approximately 22.6.

A ball is kicked horizontally from a 60 meter tall cliff at 10 m/s. How far from
o-na [289]

Hi there!

We can begin by deriving the equation for how long the ball takes to reach the bottom of the cliff.

\large\boxed{\Delta d = v_it+ \frac{1}{2}at^2}}

There is NO initial vertical velocity, so:

\large\boxed{\Delta d= \frac{1}{2}at^2}}

Rearrange to solve for time:

2\Delta d = at^2\\\\t = \sqrt{\frac{2\Delta d}{g}}

Plug in the given height and acceleration due to gravity (g ≈ 9.8 m/s²)

t = \sqrt{\frac{2(60)}{(9.8)}} = 3.5 s

Now, use the following for finding the HORIZONTAL distance using its horizontal velocity:

\large\boxed{d_x = vt}\\\\d_x = 10(3.5) = \karge\boxed{35 m}

List 5 differences between a compound and an element.
Anuta_ua [19.1K]

Answer:

1.An element consists of the same kind of atoms while a compound is composed of different kinds of atoms.

2.A monoatomic element cannot be split up physically or chemically but a compound can be split up into new substances by chemical means.

3.Only limited number of elements are known in an element whiles number of known compounds are quite large.

4.The property of an element is the property of the atom whiles the property of a compound is quite different from that of it's constituents.

5 . Elements are represented by symbols and numbers.for example Sodium is represented by Na whiles compounds are represented by their chemical formula.for example,Salt is represented by the formula NaCl.
