Answer:

22.89 N

Explanation:

F = 37 N

Let the acceleration in the system is a and f be the force between the tewo blocks.

Apply the Newton's second law

By the free body diagrams

F - f = 7.4 x a .... (1)

f = 12 x a ...... (2)

Adding both of them

37 = 19.4 x a

a = 1.9 m/s^2

Put in equation (2)

f = 12 x 1.9 = 22.89 N

Where is the near point of an normal eye when accidentally wear a contact lens with a power of +2.0 diopters?
Lerok [7]

Answer:

The near point of an eye with power of +2 dopters, u' = - 50 cm

Given:

Power of a contact lens, P = +2.0 diopters

Solution:

To calculate the near point, we need to find the focal length of the lens which is given by:

Power, P = \frac{1}{f}

where

f = focal length

Thus

f = \frac{1}{P}

f = \frac{1}{2} = + 0.5 m

The near point of the eye is the point distant such that the image formed at this point can be seen clearly by the eye.

Now, by using lens maker formula:

\frac{1}{f} = \frac{1}{u} + \frac{1}{u'}

where

u = object distance = 25 cm = 0.25 m = near point of a normal eye

u' = image distance

Now,

\frac{1}{u'} = \frac{1}{f} - \frac{1}{u}

\frac{1}{u'} = \frac{1}{0.5} - \frac{1}{0.25}

\frac{1}{u'} = \frac{1}{f} - \frac{1}{u}

Solving the above eqn, we get:

u' = - 0.5 m = - 50 cm

Calculate the magnitude of the linear momentum for the following cases. (a) a proton with mass 1.67 10-27 kg, moving with a spee
abruzzese [7]

Answer:

<h2>8.0995×10^-21 kgms^-1</h2>

Explanation:

Mass of proton :

m_P=1.67\times 10^-^2^7\:kg\\

Speed of Proton:

v_P=4.85\times 10^6

Linear Momentum of a particle having mass (m) and velocity (v) :

-> p =m->v\:\:\: (1)

Magnitude of momentum :

p=mv\:\:\: (2)

Frome equation (2), magnitude of linear momentum of the proton :

p_P=m_P\:v_P\\\\p_P=1.67\times 10^-^2^7 \:kg\times4.85\times 10^6\:ms^-^1\\\\p_P= 8.0995\times 10^-^2^1\:kgms^-^1

An astronaut goes to Mars to do some experiments. Explain why her mass stays the same but her weight changes.
Snowcat [4.5K]
Because mass does not change from place to place but weight does change from place to place... why? because weight is the amount of gravitational force on an object and mass is the amount of matter in an object. mars has less gravitational force so an object will weigh less than it really weighs there
