What is the word equation for this reaction? Cl + O3 → ClO + O2

Chemistry

Answer:

The bimolecular rate constant for the reaction Cl + O3 → ClO + O2 is measured over the temperature range 210 to 360 K in a discharge flow system using Cl atom resonance fluorescence at 134.72 nm to monitor the decay of Cl under pseudo first order conditions. Results, expressed in the form k1 = (2.35 ± 0.5) × 10−11 exp[−(171 ± 30)/T], are compared with other recent studies of this reaction. Stratospheric implications are discussed briefly including the possibility of a concurrent three-body mechanism with O2 forming ClO3.

What are some advantages and disadvantages to the acid rain management techniques?
mr_godi [17]
Disadvantages of acid rain:
• Acid rain affects the fresh water ponds and lakes and destroys the aquatic life as some species of fishes are rare and may be extinct
• it can affect the trees particularly those that are high altitude
• It can damage historical monuments and buildings
•soil can be affected and can lead to deaths of good microbes

Advantages of acid rain:
• it makes holes in limestone below ground, which creates caves and places to store groundwater, as well as providing habitat for some species
• But the new study shows that sulfuric in acid may have benefits, limiting global warming by counteracting the natural production of methane gases by microbes in wetland areas.

Of course you should do more studying on acid rain but these are the simple ones

While you were "sweating" your chemistry test, water vapor evaporates from your body, absorbing 50,000 J of energy. (assume no
TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

\boxed {\boxed {\sf B. \ 22 \ grams}}

Explanation:

We need to use the formula for heat of vaporization.

Q=H_{vap}*m

Identify the variables.

  • The heat absorbed by the evaporating water is the <u>latent heat of vaporization. </u>For water, that is 2260 Joules per gram.
  • Q is the energy, in this problem, 50,000 Joules.
  • m is the mass, which is unknown.

H_{vap}=2260 \ J/g\\Q=50,000 \ J \\

Substitute the values into the formula.

50,000 \ J=2260 \ J/g*m

We want to find the mass. We must isolate the variable, m.

m is being multiplied by 2260 J/g. The inverse operation of multiplication is division. Divide both sides by 2260 J/g.

\frac{50,000 \ J}{2260 \ J/g} =\frac{2260 \ J/g*m}{2260 \ J/g}

\frac{50,000 \ J}{2260 \ J/g} =m

Divide. Note that the Joules (J) will cancel each other out.

\frac{50,000 \ }{2260 \ g} =m

22.1238938 \ g =m

Round to the nearest whole number. The 1 in the tenth place tells us to leave the number as is.

22 \ g \approx m

The mass is about 22 grams, so choice B is correct.
