Explain polarizing power with ionic radius

Chemistry

Answer:

Polarizing Power is the basis of Fajan's rules of covalent character generally in ionic compounds.

Charges and radius are a function of Polarizing Power, because the higher the charge is, the larger the polarizing power is for cations with the same radius. Also the smaller the radius is, the larger the polarizing power is for cations with the same charge.

Give the value of the quantum number ℓ, if one exists, for a hydrogen atom whose orbital angular momentum has a magnitude of 6√(
MakcuM [25]

Answer:

For this angular momentum, no quantum number exist

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The magnitude of the angular momentum is  L  = 6\sqrt{\frac{h}{2 \pi} }

The generally formula for Orbital angular momentum is mathematically represented as

           L  = \sqrt{(l * (l + 1)) } *  \frac{h}{2 \pi}

Where l is the quantum number

now

We can look at the given angular momentum in this form as

      L  = 6\sqrt{\frac{h}{2 \pi} }    =  \sqrt{36}  * \sqrt{\frac{h}{2 \pi}} }

comparing this equation to the generally equation for Orbital angular momentum

     We see that there is no quantum number that would satisfy this equation

A student collected a total of 36.04 g of water from a reaction. What number of moles of water does this represent
umka21 [38]
To find the number of moles from a mass given, simply look to the formula n (moles) = m (mass, g) / MM (molar mass).
Mass was given, 36.04
Molar mass is the total atomic mass of all the atoms present. Water is H20, so that means 2 hydrogen and 1 oxygen. The atomic mass of hydrogen is 1 and atomic mass of oxygen is 16. Therefore MM= 1 + 1 + 16= 18.
Plug that value in and the full equation is
n = 36.04/18
n = 2.002 moles
= 2 moles

A sample of an ideal gas has a volume of 2.21 L at 282 K and 1.03 atm. Calculate the pressure when the volume is 1.84 L
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

1.33 atm

Explanation:

use general gas equation P1 V1/ T1 = P2 V2/ T2

rearrange and make P2 the subject then solve,it should give you 1.33 atm
