The resultant force = 1000N + 1000N = 2000N

this is because the force is applied in the same direction and when this is the case you double the force to find the resultant force.

A careful photographic survey of Jupiter's moon Io by the spacecraft Voyager 1 showed active volcanoes spewing liquid sulfur to
Over [174]

The concept used to solve this problem is that given in the kinematic equations of motion. From theory we know that the change in velocities of a body is equivalent to twice the distance traveled by acceleration, in other words:

v_f^2-v_i^2 = 2ax

Where,

v_{f,i} = Final and initial velocity

a = Acceleration

x = Displacement

For the given case, the displacement is equivalent to the height (x = h) and the acceleration is the same gravitational acceleration (a = g). In turn we do not have initial speed therefore

v_f^2 = 2hg

v_f = \sqrt{2hg}

Our values are given as

h = 70km = 70*10^3m

g = 2m/s^2

Replacing we have that,

v_f = \sqrt{2hg}

v_f = \sqrt{2(70*10^3)(2)}

v_f = 529.15m/s

Therefore the speed with which the liquid sulfur left the volcano is 529.15m/s

The membrane that surrounds a certain type of living cell has a surface area of 5.1 x 10-9 m2 and a thickness of 1.4 x 10-8 m.
ziro4ka [17]

a) The charge on the outer surface is 1.2\cdot 10^{-12} C

b) The number of ions is 7.5\cdot 10^6

Explanation:

a)

The membrane behaves as a parallel plate capacitor, whose capacity is given by the equation

C=\frac{k\epsilon_0 A}{d}

where

k = 4.3 is the dielectric constant

\epsilon_0 =8.85\cdot 10^{-12} F/m is the vacuum permittivity

A=5.1\cdot 10^{-9} m^2 is the surface area

d=1.4\cdot 10^{-8} m is the distance between the two plates

Substituting,

C=\frac{(4.3)(8.85\cdot 10^{-12})(5.1\cdot 10^{-9})}{1.4\cdot 10^{-8}}=1.4\cdot 10^{-11} F

The capacity of the membrane is related to the potential difference between the two surfaces by

C=\frac{Q}{\Delta V}

where here we have

Q = excess charge on one surface

\Delta V = 85.5 mV = 0.0855 V is the potential difference between the two surfaces

Solving for Q, we find

Q=C\Delta V=(1.4\cdot 10^{-11})(0.0855)=1.2\cdot 10^{-12} C

b)

We said that the net charge on the outer surface is

Q=1.2\cdot 10^{-12} C

The charge of one K+ ions is equal to the electron charge

+e=1.6\cdot 10^{-19} C

Therefore, the number of ions on the outer surface can be found by dividing the total charge by the charge of a single ion:

N=\frac{Q}{e}=\frac{1.2\cdot 10^{-12}}{1.6\cdot 10^{-19}}=7.5\cdot 10^6

While playing a video game on your laptop, the laptop gets very hot. Which Thermodynamics Law does this exemplify?
Ksivusya [100]

Answer

The dedicated graphics card is used when performing hardware-intensive tasks so as to ensure efficiency and balanced performance. However, it uses more power and thus produces more heat. When the cooling system is not sufficient or the room is not well ventilated, your PC begins to overheat while playing games.     Explanation: How does the second law of thermodynamics relate to the direction of heat flow? Heat of itself never flows from a cold object to a hot object. ... The second law expresses the maximum efficiency of a heat engine in terms of hot and cold temperatures. one of these answers i am not sure

A planned high-speed train between Houston and Dallas will travel a distance of 386 kilometers in 5.40 × 10^3 seconds. What is t
Mazyrski [523]

¡Hellow!

For this problem, first, lets convert the seconds in hours:

5,4x10³\rightarrow 5400

h = sec / 3600

h = 5400 s / 3600

h = 1,5

Let's recabe information:

d (Distance) = 386 km

t (Time) = 1,5 h

v (Velocity) = ?

For calculate velocity, let's applicate formula:

                                                    \boxed{\boxed{\textbf{d = v * t} } }

Reeplace according we information:

386 km = v * 1,5 h

v = 386 km / 1,5 h

v = 257,33 km/h

The velocity of the train is of <u>257,33 kilometers for hour.</u>

<u></u>

Extra:

For convert km/h to m/s, we divide the velocity of km/h for 3,6:

m/s = km/h / 3,6

Let's reeplace:

m/s = 257,33 km/h / 3,6

m/s = 71,48

¿Good Luck?
