Answer:

<h2>D.)</h2>

Explanation:

Potential energy is when a object is not in motion and the ball is sitting on a shelf not being thrown around or rolling. kinetic energy is when a obeject is in motion and moving.

Potential energy is turned into kinetic energy. Potential energy itself is determined by the position and forces on an object. Kinetic energy is based on the velocity of the object. So when an object sitting still is moved, the potential energy is quickly converted into kinetic energy because it is moving with a velocity.

A ball sitting still on a shelf will have a huge amount of potential energy because we would consider the reference point to be the ground. There is a change in height from the top of the shelf and the ground, but there is no velocity

Imagine a small child whose legs are half as long as her parent’s legs. If her parent can walk at maximum speed V, at what maxim
AnnZ [28]

Answer:

\boxed{v=\frac {V}{\sqrt {2}}}

Explanation:

We know that speed is given by dividing distance by time or multiplying length and frequency. The speed of the father will be given by Lf where L is the length of the father’s leg ad f is the frequency.

We know that frequency of simple pendulum follows that f=\frac {1}{2\pi} \sqrt {\frac {g}{l}}

Now, the speed of the father will be V=Lf= L\times (\frac {1}{2\pi} \sqrt {\frac {g}{l}}) while for the child the speed will be v=\frac {L}{2}\times (\frac {1}{2\pi} \sqrt {\frac {g}{0.5l}})

The ratio of the father’s speed to the child’s speed will be

\frac {V}{v}=\frac {\frac {L}{2}\times (\frac {1}{2\pi} \sqrt {\frac {g}{0.5l}})}{ L\times (\frac {1}{2\pi} \sqrt {\frac {g}{l}})}\\\frac {V}{v}=\frac {\sqrt {2}}{2}\\\boxed{v=\frac {V}{\sqrt {2}}}

A skydiver of 75 kg mass has a terminal velocity of 60 m/s. At what speed is the resistive force on the skydiver half that when
ankoles [38]

Answer:

The speed of the resistive force is 42.426 m/s

Explanation:

Given;

mass of skydiver, m = 75 kg

terminal velocity, V_T = 60 \ m/s

The resistive force on the skydiver is known as drag force.

Drag force is directly proportional to square of terminal velocity.

F_D = kV_T^2

Where;

k is a constant

k = \frac{F_D_1}{V_{T1}^2} = \frac{F_D_2}{V_{T2}^2}

When the new drag force is half of the original drag force;

F_D_2 = \frac{F_D_1}{2} \\\\\frac{F_D_1}{V_{T1}^2} = \frac{F_D_2}{V_{T2}^2} \\\\\frac{F_D_1}{V_{T1}^2} = \frac{F_D_1}{2V_{T2}^2} \\\\\frac{1}{V_{T1}^2} = \frac{1}{2V_{T2}^2}\\\\2V_{T2}^2 = V_{T1}^2\\\\V_{T2}^2= \frac{V_{T1}^2}{2} \\\\V_{T2}= \sqrt{\frac{V_{T1}^2}{2} } \\\\V_{T2}=  \frac{V_{T1}}{\sqrt{2} } \\\\V_{T2}=  0.7071(V_{T1})\\\\V_{T2}= 0.7071(60 \ m/s)\\\\V_{T2}= 42.426 \ m/s

Therefore, the speed of the resistive force is 42.426 m/s
